360 price drop coming?

yup perfect time to drop the price to get one up on sony just before xmas and maximise sales over the period
 
Amazing timming, my 2 year old 360 died last week and I need a new console now. £129 for the arcade pack is a cracking offer. Thanks for the info.

I just want to echo that I'd love a cheaper PS3, and hope the Analysts are wrong. I suspect Sony will just release a 'pack-on' game like LBP for £299 before Xmas.

However I'm still dreaming of a £250 80GB PS3...

Just send it back and get it fixed for free :confused:

£229 for an elite, I'd buy one then for the hard drive when gaming installs happens.

£280 to £230 is a £50 difference. Not that big. I mean it's a saving but I bought my Elite new for £220 on a sale 4 months ago.
 
Are these just the console though? If so its not that great of value, in town today (and has been for a few weeks) The Elite is 260 with 3 games such as Lost odyessey, Gears, halo 3, Forza 2, pgr 2 that seems a better value than just £230 by itself.
 
That's quite lame as I only got my premium for £209 with Too Human 2 weeks ago.

That said I got £25 back on Too Human so it's not all bad.
 
Its not that much of a price cut on the elite is it? I have been looking around and the elite is £339 anyway, so they have only cut another tenner off.
 
The Elite's RRP is £259 so it's going down to £229 - a £30 drop. I guess most places have just been selling it below the RRP for a while.
 
From GAMER.tm: "Microsoft will formally announce a price cut for the 360 in Europe next week, an industry insider has confirmed.

"Speaking to GAMER.tm, the industry insider – who understandably wishes to remain anonymous – said that Microsoft is to confirm the price cut at a European event the company is due to hold during the week of 22 September.

"According to our source, the price cut was due to be one of Microsoft's major announcements at the event. Although our source added that it may not have the same impact now, following last week's Woolworths leak.
