Which ram would u pick??

If it's for a E8*** series cpu and you will be clocking it then the 8500 would be best. If it's for a quad then the 6400 will be ok.

8 and 16GB!!!! :eek::eek::eek: Why so much?

i think the numbers are numbers of sticks, lol

is there a particular reason why you want 8gb? you're very unlikely to see any benefit over 4gb.

I was gonna get 8gb ram then thought of 16gb ram just to be greedy really,i will prob just get 4gb and upgrade in the future if needed. I have just been looking at the ddr3 ram and i gotta say,I like what i see :),But if i wanted that i would have to change my mobo from the:

Asus P5Q Pro Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

to the...

Asus P5Q3 Deluxe @ Wifi-N Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

If i go with the deluxe then my setup would be...

Does this setup look good to everyone else?? if so i'm gonna order asap :)

icey_haj and Eggman was kind enough before to let me know that everything would work together when i was getting the p5q pro board and the DDR2 ram sticks,I just wanna double check that everything i have in the new list will work fine together too?? :)

Asus do not officially support ocz ram. get geil instead.

Apart from taht looks fine. OCZ will more than likely work, does in my system . But why take the risk.

HI there

Crucial have gone a bit downhill since they went to single sided configuration. The GeIL is double sided and GeIL holds one of the best reliability records at OcUK, in other words we get lower percentage of GeIL back than any other brand.

Warranty is lifetime and you just return it to OcUK. :)

One of the reasons to for Geil, also heard OCZ & Crucials RMA has gone down the pan lately ;)

I have been looking through the ram sticks and i have noticed there's only one problem with the geil sticks (bearing in mind i bought the P5Q3 deluxe this morn) there is only these sticks that are DDR3...

Can anyone that might have this mobo recommend any certain ram sticks to work with this mobo??

---------------------------------------------

I did see these but i don't know if they would be ok for the mobo either :/...

If anyone has any ideas can u pls post links to the sticks,Many thx in advance :)

Well i prob won't overclock right away,But i hear the E8500 can get up to ...4.2Ghz - 4.5Ghz and prob further,But when i do i'll prob just take it to 3.9Ghz - 4.0Ghz
As for price,I was willing to spend £130 on the...

"OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Platinum (2x2GB) Dual Channel DDR3 (OCZ3P13334GK)"

And that was including shipping and vat. So around that price range really m8 :)

Why are you posting in black?

i'm posting in black coz i like to be different m8 lol :P

I'd get this :)

I did look at them m8,But they are ddr2 m8 and i was really after going for ddr3,See i was going with the "P5Q Pro" first which supports ddr2,But i changed my mind at the last minute and have gone with the "P5Q3 deluxe" which is ddr3 m8

**Edit** Would a ddr3 mobo with Dual channel memory architecture support ddr2 and ddr3??

Only if it says supports DDR2 and DDR3. Red really doesnt work with this forum background. Use yellow. Oh, and WHITE. Why make it difficult to read?

i wouldn't buy DDR3 now. its horribly over priced. if i had the money i'd go for two of the second kit (16GB, 4 DIMMs)
