Positives in this...?

How long does it take before dead bodies start to smell really bad?

It depends, how are you storing it? Refrigeration or preferably freezing helps significantly although you've still got the problem of disposal later, acid works quite nicely I believe although getting industrial quantites of it requires some explanation. Quicklime would deal with most of the flesh but not great for the bones, incineration might be your best option though - try befriending a nurse and using a hospital incinerator perhaps. There's always the pig option as advocated in Snatch but they tend to smell a bit themselves.

In all honesty I think moving out of the room might be less hassle.

Ill be right next to the sea though.

Could always rent a boat and dump it off shore.

So yeah, Ive just ordered myself a new case as im afraid that who ever im with my decide to pour some form of drink on my PC or do all sorts of horrid things to it. :(

What course are you doing ekulmit?

ekulmit and Azza sitting in a tree......lol

I've always had private rooms, in fact at UEA I told them that would not be joining should I not get one my first 3 choices of room.

A mate of mine had to share a room with someone but that guy was only there for the first week and for the rest of the year he had a large room to himself.

Kick up a massive stink about it. You cna also look for the final few clearing places - If you really do not want to go there.

I was forced into shared accomodation in my first year at Birmingham Uni! It was literally just one big room - no divides - just two beds in the room and 2 of everything else.

I shared with a big black dude :D He was a really sound guy but we couldn't have been more different. He did have a tendency to put music on to go to sleep to, which meant I'd often creep up to him in the night and turn off his stereo. :D Eventually he managed to move out (the amusing thing was that there were free single rooms on the same corridor as us!) just a few doors down and I was left with a giant room all to myself. It made a handy social hub :)

It was pretty funny though, in fact my whole first year of uni was pretty surreal living in a 17 storey tower block with no facilities, pretty much no security whatsoever, and no internet!! Sounds like hell in a way, but it was actually the most fun year of my life I've ever had.

How are you going to whack off if you have a room mate?

ever heard that joke about skiing ?

Three guys go to a ski lodge, and there aren't enough rooms, so they have to share a bed.

In the middle of the night, the guy on the right wakes up and says, "I had this wild, vivid dream of getting a hand job!"

The guy on the left wakes up, and unbelievably, he's had the same dream, too. Then the guy in the middle wakes up and says,

"That's funny, I dreamt I was skiing!"

Are you accepting the place or looking for something else?

This is far too stressful for my liking. I finished work yesterday. The rest of this week was supposed to be time to chill before I left. So much for that...

I'm looking into renting a room somewhere privately, but there doesn't seem to be a great deal around.

Yeah Ive already paid them and sent the forms off.

I had a look the other day at private stuff but there didn't seem to be anything then when I looked, anything that was affordable any way.

Depending what its like when I get there and if the person im with is a **** or not then Ill look at different accommodation then I think.

You may have luck getting a room from someone who drops out, my floor at Uni had 2 people drop out within the first few weeks and their rooms were left empty but I'm sure you could have inquired about them if your in a double room. Luckily we managed to blag a copy of the keys for each room so friends had a place to stay when visiting, worked well.

Well it will be interesting to say the least.

If you don't mind me asking ekulmit are your a bloke?

Asking because everyone on The Student Room who are in the same situation as us are guys...

In a long term relationship (which could make sharing a room awkward and may result in either my girlfriend getting a hotel every few weeks or me bringing my tent)

Or your room mate making a healthy profit to sleep else where ;)

Hopefully he'll be a pimp and always sleeping elsewhere :p

Tell me about it. She won't be there very often (she works in London). I explained that perhaps it wouldn't be appropriate on the accommodation form and said she would be visiting regularly, but I guess if there really wasn't anywhere else there was nothing they could do.

What do you know about other people that have ended up there? Have most people got in through clearing?
