Aye I'm a fan too, I make great use of their products. Unfortunately even the optimist in me just don't see much they could do to improve Valve, while my pessimistic side really does see a lot they could do to hurt Valve. :(

Valve won't sell out unless its a REALLY big figure.

Valve are like, one of the last decent PC devs out there.

Or if Valve actually believes the companies financial and technological backing would create greater opportunities for what they're aiming for. Wouldn't surprise me if being owned by Google will give them a lot more ability to push Steam as a content distribution system.

For some reason everyone sees google through rose tinted glasses, most likely due to the free stuff/services they offer. In reality, behind the pretty face they're just as bad if not worse than the likes of microsoft, EA etc.

I don't think anyone here thinks Google are angels, it's just that their products are actually good.
