Tried to make warm milk to help me sleep, and left the spoon in the cup.

Now the microwave won't heat anything, have I killed it? :(

I set it for 1min 30secs, and walked away to the toilet. Came back to a nasty smell of sparks.

The third one I've murdered in about 6 months!

My micro instruction manual says it can be used with tin foil in it...

I'm not sure how that helps. You've definately wrecked yours! :p

Actually, I have some odd new type of microwave which actually needs a spoon in a cup of liquid to heat it, it's very odd but that's how it works it seems.

At least you didn't put a baking potato in for 45 minutes like a mate of mine did.

Then you'd be minus a potato as well as a microwave :(

Apparently, it kills them. Some 'tard just done it and posted on this foru... oh wait.

My love for you has gone... I'm sorry. :( </3

cheap asda rubbish has nothing to do with it, you can kill any microwave however expensive through bad usage :)

As I have also found out twice before :D first one was a can of beans, second was turning it on with nothing in at all.

My mums always putting tinfoil in our microwave and its fine. At a hotel I worked at they had a microwave that they often put metal trays etc in and it never broke, I guess there are some that don't break.
