My new weight-loss diary. (Now with pics!)

Sorry but that is very misleading. There is no way anyone would anyone who had lost so much weight remain looking such naturally thin.

Plus you would have thought the tide would have gone out between taking the photographs?

Ah I see. What is good is taking a photo of your self every week. Then in 3 months time, take a look back, but don't look at the pictures till then.

You will be amazed.

I have plenty of photos of how I look anyway, but they took a front and profile pic of me at the first meeting and i'll get one in 8 weeks time too to compare :)

I can't believe i can see the difference in the mirror after a week though. Last week was hell but I feel on top of the world now I'm in ketosis :) and I'm already seeing where I was going so wrong with my diet. To anyone in my position, I can recommend this so far.

Nice one DailyGeek, it does sound like torture to me but if you're getting such dramatic weight loss I guess it must feel worth it.

Sorry but that is very misleading. There is no way anyone would anyone who had lost so much weight remain looking such naturally thin. Your skin will sag and you will not look like that. Look how much skin there is on the fat man and compare it to the skinny man. It doesn't just 'dissapear'.

I lost conderably less weight and have excess skin which is impossible to shift. Its annoying because I'm actually pretty fit, yet I don't look it. I'm never going to let my children get fat.

Best of luck with your goals.

Do you know if the 'excess skin' thing only happens when you lose weight very rapidly Nitefly? I've been dropping weight quite steadily since about November last year (~19 kilos lost at the moment) and if/when I do reach my target weight I'll be annoyed if I'm left with big flaps of saggy skin where my belly used to be and under my arms etc.

Skin is elastic and will "shrink" but this is dependant on age and exercise. I lost just over 6 stone a few years back and felt fantastic but the excess skin was still there and I still had belly due to the skin and only the skin. HOWEVER I didn't exercise when I dropped the weight and I think that was a big factor in it. I am currently gyming to see what I can do about it so will let you know ;)

I seemed to have stopped losing weight, I cannot get below 90.5kg, I guess I ought to start exercising , I don't think ramadan helps either?

As someone else said here, sagging will only happen if you lose weight too rapidly. I lost four stone at the rate of 2-3 pounds a week, as well as going to the gym 3-4 times a week and I went from obese to healthy without any hint of problems.

I feel sorry for the OP and all the naysayers in this thread, good luck to him. Just make sure you lose weight at a healthy pace and exercise.

As my grandfather used to say, "there's no short cut to hard work". Whatever that means.

I'm not a slim guy, and I would like to lose a bit of weight. But I can't help but think this is an INCREDIBLY bad way of losing weight. You will easily just put it ALL back on again.

My plan of action is basically to cut out all junk food, eat more fruit instead, drink plenty of water, get out more and do more walking instead of using the car (increase my CV activity), and get on our multigym at home to tone my muscles. However I do think a bit of the bulk on my body is muscle mass aswell as fat, so it makes me look 'chunkier' than I am, but theres no denying I could do with losing some of it!

The first few days are hard, but i've done it before and seen results. Think I might give it a stab again actually. Think i'll start on Monday though i've got stuff on this weekend LOL.

Like any diet, you could put it all back on. Or, you might not.

multi gym, home, tone muscles = i think i just died :p

I think encourage levels of that kind of calorie restriction is wrong and unhealthy.

That said, I wish you well and hope you reach the results you want.

Ant

The constant weight loss is great but it's the lost inches that are most impressive to me. 4.5" off your waist in 3 weeks.

Congrats and good luck.

Pics will be coming soon, I want to feel happy with the difference before I start posting pics really, but soon - promise!

I do find it kind of strange that everyone has a reaction to how I'm choosing to do this, and I mean IRL, not just online. I mean i'm clearly losing weight, looking better for it, having more energy etc. Yet people have 20 questions - fair enough. But when they don't accept my answers about how I've chosen to take this route and made an adult and informed deciscion to do this abstinence then it's irritating.

I love it when people that just tell me to cut out the crap and exercise, as if I haven't thought about that, or indeed tried it several times :p. Exercising when you are almost 20st is not easy and losing weight through exercise, particularly the amount I want to shift, is not a quick process and the motivation drops off sharply.
The whole point of this is that it helps me psychologically deal with the way I handle food. That is what will stop me putting the weight back on afterwards, or at least minimalise it.

If I do what I always did, I'll get what I always got. Fat. It's about changing my approach to eating long term.

Thanks for those that have read and commented. If you are unsure, the first post on the blog explains why I have chosen this way of doing things. :)
