Anyone here got the WAR CE???

I bought the WAR (pre order box) of Ebay ages ago. This is the CE version.
It contained the Open beta key, Early access key and the bonus ingame items.

Though I don't seem to have ANY of the CE items like the exclusive heads etc?

Anyone here with the CE have anything else in there CE box? or was it just the preorder box containing the 3 keys?

The game really needs a general chat for the public quests

There is a general chat, its /1 , but so few people use it for a variety of reasons. Firstly most people tend to speak in guildchat or alliance chat, secondly the increase in use of voice comms these days means a lot of people dont bother with ingame chat at all anymore, and thirdly because amongst all the other spam in the chatbox people dont notice someone talking and they probably havent bothered to change their default chat colours to make player chat stand out more

I have to say that I'm in agreement, although not a total clone it seems that this, WoW and LOTRO are all essentially the same thing, Instead of being impresssed in the opening hour or so it felt like something I'd done thousands of times before with slightly differing interfaces. Tedious for now, might give it another try when I'm not quite so tired.

Got to admit it does feel the same for the first hour, though to be honest virtually every MMO I've ever played feels the same for the first hour. Kind of hard to judge the aspects of an MMO in just 60 minutes , I would wait until you have tried a couple of scenarios, some of the PQs and some of the open RvR/sieges and that should give you a decent amount of info to ascertain whether its the game for you or not

Any beta players playing straight from a patched up beta install? any problems?

I played straight from patched up closed beta, no problems.

The game really needs a general chat for the public quests, I can't get any done because I'm unable to find enough people to do them with, especially in the dwarf area.

Oh and agreed about people being unsociable, I ask people if they wanna group up to do quests and I just get ignored!

You can see the groups in your area by clicking the button underneath your character health bar, Unless they lock there party its easy to find a group for anything you want. Only thing i see wrong with it atm is on a open rvr server instead of saying PQ,PVE and RVR it just says RvR for all of them.

Yeah agree, Every mmo is very similar at the start, Only mmo that iv played that was different was aoc, And we all know were that went!

All setup yesterday,

Got in from work---> Registered key ---> Logged into patcher ---> updated in 10mins from beta client ---> got to charactor creation screen ---> Created charactor ---> 25min wait before i could connect... lol

Was dam worth it! Awsome game, playing a shaman on here is great fun! i love the way healing works. as u can DPS and heal at the same time, without needing to swap targets. Love that you can move the UI about. Really really enjoying it. Force AA to 4x and it looks loverly.

Did a few public quests great fun, prob tomany people in them to make them challanging, got some nice green items.


And i'm only up to level 3... shame i had to go out and i'm not gunan get on until about 12 tongiht. But i feeel a allnighter

Gotta laugh at all the 'I've played it for half an hour and it's a WoW clone' comments.

The interface layout and all the other basic elements are bound to feel the same - if 10 million people play a particular game, you damn well want them to feel immediately at home when they pick up your one. If you pick up War knowing it's in a fantasy setting with orcs, elves and dwarves and expect something earth shatteringly different you're bound to be disappointed.

Look past the front end, and it's nothing like wow (or lotro for that matter) at all. The lore book, public quests, open group system, open RvR, and just the general atmosphere and tone of the game all feel pretty new and fresh.

In beta you had to disable specular lighting from the ingame options before AA and AF would take in the game, try that.

Fire up Nvidia Control Panel & goto the 3D settings and select 'use the advanced 3D image settings' and click on take me there.

From there click on 4th item down antialiasing setting and select 4x and click on apply.

Playing Dest. on Axe Bite Pass with a couple RL mates and will hopefully get my girlfriend on their this evening.

Population seems 90% UK from what i've seen so far... Queue times have been fairly short (~5 mins) compared to what i've heard from other servers.

Loving the game so far. Played a Zealot to rank 9 in Open Beta and was undecided, started a Marauder at release and still wasn't sure. Now i'm playing a Squig Herder and loving every minute. Only rank 8 at the moment but having great fun with World RvR and Public Quests.

If you find you're not enjoying the game as much as you'd like, roll another class - You're sure to find one you love.

This game has huge potential and it seems things will only get better.

I'm having more of a problem finding one I don't love

Witch hunter, shadow warrior, engineer, bright wizard are all great fun, and I still want to try an archmage and white lion.

Only one I'm having problems with so far is the warrior priest. He's very hard to kill in RvR, but just doesn't seem to have the damage output to kill anyone. I usually end up getting frustrated after a long fight where neither of us can kill the other and running away. One for when I have a group only I think.

I have a Rank13 Shaman atm and i enjoy it, his damage output is a little low tho, i'm going to roll a marauder cause i like the look and will see !

Where did you hear that? I'm sure I read somewhere on the goa site that they would be giving 7 days grace before you had to put your key in. Can't find it now though

Edit - found it. They announced 7 days from the 18th for standard users, 14 days for CE users. It's the Grace Period Active headline.

I just for once have a weekend with no planned parties and really not feeling like getting spontaneously wasted tonight, so lots of gaming to do and would really annoy me if something like that would block my opportunity

Rah CE addition just arrived \o/ , thx a lot for the ppl who cancelled at .com ;p . Really impressed with it but then again i do like game extras. Playing order on Azgal, shaping up to be another good server, with good guildes on both realms.
