Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

Well I've just killed that big **** hot alien! the game surprisingly runs smooth 1920x1080 :D though for good measure I'm playing 1680x1050.

Not a single crash, not a single issue.

My screens comparing it with Crysis (which had the 2GB Ultra textures mod and custom config)

There is no way her PC runs it well in even DX9C with that GPU at that RES with no AA or other (if MAX means highest possible settings ie Enthusiast or even the lower Gamer).

I'm not joking, with all set to Enthusiast it's working very nice, it does slow down but it's perfectly playable.

Gonna go back on now! :D

game runs very nice for me at 1680x1050 with no AA on enthusiast(dx10) and that's pretty good imo. was expecting to see a bit of stutter like i do in crysis when there's to much going on and my cpu starts to chug. only slow down I've experienced thus far was that short bit when your in the apc and everything's going flying and blowing up everywhere and that's to be expected i guess.

i haven't finished it yet but I'd rate it around 8 or 9/10. not the worlds best game but so so pretty. any time you stop in the middle of a firefight to admire how awesome some of the explosions and affects are you know its good

Does anybody elses screen flash black when you get a grenade or shell go off near you? I can't work out if this is part of the game or not...

No distortions here, Xonar D2X :)

Flashes black for me too at the same time - You are in a nanosuit afterall :p

Should have guessed that that would be a side effect!!!

I have no sound distortions either, only problem I have is the odd CTD...thankfully it seems to autosave fairly frequently.

Well, after my initial disappointment I restarted, and have been playing through from the beginning again. It has been fun. Kind of get the impression am getting near the end after very little play time.

It is a little smoother than original crysis, but thats simply because they have lowered some details/settings. Though to maintain a playable framerate I am still playing on high/gamer at 1680x1050 with no AA to try and keep my ming fps to 30.

So in essence there is no improvement in performance for me as I still have to play on the same settings I would be using with a G92 GTS, or single 4870. Basically it still scales for ****.

I am disappointed by the performance, but at least it is fun to play.

Original Crysis still looks better though.

Does anyone else think the part in the mine is the greatest thing ever.

I don't know why but the visuals really struck me during this part. Looked amazing and some of the best game play as well.

I need some way to force 100HZ instead of 60HZ in DX10 (its a Vista issue but normally RefreshLock Tool can sort it, does work for Crysis).

Until then I'm on DX9 as I get ill with 60HZ and Menus don't line up with mouse cursor.

Looks like professionals agree with me:

The most impressive graphic level of the entire game for me was the mine level you had to walkthrough while killing plenty of enemies while searching for the way out. This mine level almost felt like it could be a dungeon from the latest RPG with its gorgeous graphics, roots growing out of the walls, broken lumber and the like.

Having an issue with Warhead. I'm on Vista 32bit and have an E4500 at 3.0 gig, 2 gig geil black dragon, X-fi gamer and a HD Radeon 4850 1 gig, it seems stuttery. Is it a Ram issue?

I have the latest drivers for everything and tried at 1280x960 when it stutteres at 1440x900, details set to medium. It is running in DX10 mode as default would running DX9 be any better?

Only problem is ram limitations with 32bit vista:(

If you install another 2gb you wont be able to use it all except on the 64bit version of vista. Would probly still help a bit though.
