*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

What is the difference between open rvr and core servers? I mean description tells you but i'm still kinda confused.

Also I'm on karag-vlag which is medium - medium.

On open RvR servers you are permanently flagged, on Core servers you are only flagged in scenarios or RvR areas or if you manually choose to flag yourself

the game is so much fun, but theres still so many bugs/glitches in it, you have to fight the game everytime you play; todays F- it i just cba anymore winner was having the chat pane stuck on the combat tab, so i couldnt read anything from tells, guild etc.

All i wanted to do was alter the opacity and untick 'auto-hide' (which btw i did- it still auto-hid and it didnt go opaque :(

Were you in a warband at the time? The warband window sits on top of the chat pane, making it impossible to click the covered tabs.

Yeah deffo using the login name. Will try the code reg now.

Thanks

/EDIT: YIPPEEEE THAT WORKED!!!! Thanks very much for the help ColinUK and Goldfingers

P.S> Colin...Didn't used to play Vanguard did you???

I think i have played every online game there is lol...

Thing i hate, and i mean HATE is queing to get into a game ive just paid £30 to play... that sucks.

Lag in the game doesnt happen much, maybe the odd frame drop in combat V 10 others.

Destruction is over populated again, on all servers. no fun when we have 10 players lvl 3-9 V 10 players lvl 10-11 on the other side, guess who wins... Still, i get a few hits in. Got the title pin cushion i die that much lol.

Over all its fun, but i wish i had waited a month, till all the 30dayers had been and gone. I feel we need to restrict destrucion players more, give them 75% less XP or something as its crazy in PvP now. Order are having a hard time, but makes each victory more sweeter....

But queing to play a game..... ffs. we must be nuts!

ColiN

BTW - i found my missing chars! the login says i have 0 chars on all servers, silly listing. I have 1 on the axe server and 2 on Clar Karond, both of whish are now full and need queing time for each side, which in this day and age is not on.

i have to agree with colin on the queue times, its simply ridiculous. i wanted to play on the server a lot of ocuk people are on but im not queuing up for 30mins+ every night when my total play time is only a bit more.

The thing about the queues is...what is the alternative?

The way I see it, if there were no queues at all, then everyone who wants to get on would get straight on, which at the moment would be a nightmare. Every area would have an unlimited number of people , PQs would be next to impossible to get anything from because there would be literally hundreds of people at each PQ. A quest to kill x number of things, or worse still a quest to kill a named mob would be next to impossible because there would be hundreds of people trying to kill it.

At this stage of the game , there has to be queues, even WoW knew that and had queues in its very early days. The alternative is so many people packed into each area, that it becomes impossible to actually do anything.

I'm sure that once people spread out a bit the caps will be lifted.

The crux of this problem has come about due to the huge multiguild alliances who have all agreed to go on the same server. There are massive alliances of guilds from WoW, and even larger alliances of ex-Daoc guilds (I know of one such alliance consisting of around 1,600 members who all agreed in advance to go to Karak Azgal..thats 1600 people in a single alliance right there trying to get on. Theres another I know of with ~900 members, but I am not sure which server they went to in the end. All of the guilds who were allied on my old US Daoc server all went to the same server on US WAR, last time I checked in on them they had nearly 3000 members spanning 27 guilds). Then in addition to those largescale alliances, you have all the others who are trying to cram onto those same servers.

People are all basically heading for the same 4 or 5 servers, even though there are other far less populated servers available. Thats either due to friends or alliances.

It will sort itself all out in time, just as it did with WoWs queues. Just might take a week or two from release.

I dont agree Tombstone,

From the amount of people who wanted in at beta, open beta and logged accounts with them, they knew they had a lot of people who would play. A simple solution would be more servers.

To have us queing, when online games have been around now for years, is stupid. Get more servers up, fix things like the login where it says you have ZERO chars on all servers. I think they are going for the cheap option here. Put up a few servers, let us all moan about it for 30 days and when people stop playing they maybe ok, so why spend the extra 30-40K on servers. its a shortterm view but one i see many times.

Shame, as the game is quiet good.

8/10 for the game.
5/10 for the way its been handled for the public to use.

imo.

More servers wouldnt help. There are servers there right now with low population on one or more of the sides.

Its not because there arent enough servers, its because you have enormous alliances formed in WoW or Daoc who all head to the same server. Take for example Azgal, with that 1600 member alliance, how would having extra servers alleviate the problem on Azgal? It wouldnt. That 1600 member alliance headed for the same server, and nothing is going to make them leave the guilds who they have been allied with for the last 6 years just to roll on a completely different server.

The US servers have many many more servers than EU, and yet they are still having queues too, (down to the same alliance issue).

If non-guilded, non alliance folks arent willing to roll on lower population servers, theres no reason to think that 5+ year old alliances are going to break up to reroll on other servers either.

Considering they spent 9million euros on the servers, I dont think they would baulk at an extra 40k cost. And what of Blizzard, who literally have money coming out of the backsides, if it was all as simple as just adding more servers, why the queues on the release of WoW?
