*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

* Enemies warping all over
* Melee attacks not landing (out of range)
* Morale abilities not firing (ability not ready)
* Sticking to lag ghost of enmies
* General laggyness & jerkyness of the rvr gameplay.
My current experience of pvp in war, it's fun.. when it works atm its just frustrating as a tank

All drivers are up to date and its a reasonable spec (See sig) i can run crysis on high easily so it is not a pc power issue

It is not my connection as i get 50-60 ping or below on most games, if it is the connection to GOA's server is another issue. One that i can do nothing about, and if daoc is anything to go by neither can goa

I did not experience this in the closed beta so something has changed in between, possibly the server simply cant cope with the volume of people?

Karak Eight Peaks, crashing server of doom

Im unsure on this so far. First impressions was that it looked nice enough, i like the control, but annoying stuff like clicking things have a very small window to click on (the actual click box on characters etc).

After a reasonable play (got my char to nearly level 6), the quests are standard fare, the RVR is a bit unbalanced due to the level of people being in there (1-11 is it?).

Im not sure i enjoy the class ive picked, basically some sort of warlock thing where i can summon a really stupid demon that wont even follow me, finding him quite dull and the spells so far lacking any real oomph.

Im finding it similar in quality to Age of Conan at the moment, im afraid i think it wont be enough to sway me from wow, if im honest i find it like having sex with another woman after being in a long term relationship, you know where everything is, you know what to buttons to push, but even though its new and exciting, you cant help wish she would come already and you could goto sleep.

You need to be more effective with your Pink Horror.

If you're finding as bad as AoC, then i'm sorry to say that this game won't be for you. Although I guess you know that already.
The class you're referring to is a magus. They're defensive RDPS, their 'pet' is bound to its circle (Engineers turret) and their damage is calculated to work across pet damage and their own. If you want pure out damage dealer, go for sorceress.

Well ive played WoW in the past for over 2 years, and I must say, im getting much more excitment from the rvr fighting in War. I have had some great moments. Being all buffed up shooting crap out of people with my engi.

Its great fun. Its not that buggy really. A couple here and there, but none have spoiled the fun im having on it.

Thats the thing for me, the rvr is great, i REALLY REALLY hope they fix theses issues as the game is not exactly cheap to warrant the "its only £x" mentality
but the issues i highlighted above ruin the experience as a melee damage dealer which relies on chains

I'm loving the game, the only thing is the public quests after chapter 1 seem to be quite empty. I was thinking that maybe this is because I'm a slow leveller and am behind the curve. Has anyone else found this? Those who are rank 20+ have you always found PQs to have a good number of people involved throughout your levelling?

I play on Karak-Azgal so it isn't a population problem.

Got my Magus from rank 20 to 22 today from doing RvR and grinding in between, get between 10k - 15k if we win scenario's and 1k - 5k if you loose (depending on kills can be more or less).

Renown rank 16 now :D, and got a new disc at level 21. must get one everyone 10 levels.

its fair enough guv, its just frustrating after the effort you put in to get to that point yknow.

Keeps were pretty easy in beta, you could pull a single champion to the stairs and kill them one at a time. Now they all BoF and spring back if you try and drag them to the stairs. Makes it a lot harder.

I'm 21, and i found this to be true too. Maybe i'm just in the wrong area ;]

I'm well looking forward to this. I'm also proper glad i'm broke till the weekend, i might even wait another month until the servers have settled and bugs have been ironed out :)

I love the guild setup in this, yeah it's just another grind but it's nice having you all contributing to something.

I also love the way it tracks members level ups as well...

I'm actually not finding this a problem so far, at level 10 and up in Norsca what I'm finding is PQs with smaller groups of people, say 6-8, but generally all that means is that you've got a better chance of loot. I also find that if you stumble on an empty PQ and start it, people will generally join in if they pass, whereas if it's completely empty they won't bother.

This is on order on Karak Hirn.

Yeah thats true but even if no one joins you can stll work your Infulance bar up.

But it is anoying how everyone goes and ony does the stage 1 PQ's

It seems people to the PQs asap, going from one to the other. To counter this, we've had 3-4 guild PQ nights. Usually a full warband or more, and we'll just go from PQ to PQ in a specific zone. Last night we were in the dwarf 2T area, the pvp PQ is great :D. Although destruction decided to try zerging us when we were on the stage 4 boss. But we took them down easily ;).

I’d say its worth trying a different class before you totally give up. I tried Magus during the open beta and didn’t really like it much, though granted I only played it for a few levels, but you may find you enjoy another class much more.
