Can't be bothered to read through the whole thread :p

What's this game like? Worth getting? I played WOW upto just under lvl60 warrior and enjoyed it and also had a lvl40 priest. Not played it for ages though but wouldn't mind giving this a try if it's worth it?

Let's put it this way - the thread wouldn't be 148 pages long if it was rubbish ;)
 
I remember the amount of people going "Age of Conan is immense" "It's amazing" "Best mmorpg I've ever played"

Then after the first couple of weeks

"Worst game ever" "LOL!!111 so bad" "Kill it with fire" "Most awful game I've ever played"

So I think I'm going to wait to see if this is the same

There's no mana in the game to burn so nope. Most classes do have an ability or spell that drains action points though but they tend to be minor or on long cooldowns so not spammable.

Not entirely true, the witch elf has a 2nd tier morale ability that drains 200 action points which is quite nice.
 
me and a mate picked this up yesterday on an impule, we started playing this morning and are lvl 7 after about 4 hours play.

its a good change from wow, the public quests are a great idea.

we have both come straight from wow and are enjoying it a lot.

were on worlds edge EU server if any1 else is on it playing dark elfs.
 
I think I may be tempted to pick this up tonight. Although I don't have much time to play at the moment, I think this may be geared to my level of, um, attention-span :D

X2 4400, 2GB, X1950XTX and XP going to be ok for this (realistically) with all the particle effects?

Yeah but AoC was an unfunished pile of poop, i liked the game but 50+ and theres hardly any quests, you have to grind and end game wasn't even there.

With WaR endgame has been tested is currently in the real game for people getting high already.

There's a big difference between the games, don't get me wrong i liked AoC but it was a huge let down in the end.

Not comparable cool PQs questing is great PVP scenarios rock even at level 5 and open RVR from the get go.

Don't wait.

I agree, I liked AoC at first but the game didn’t go anywhere and Funcom seemed clueless how to fix it.

I can see some potential problems with WAR. Already some PQs aren’t getting run. Once the majority of the player base out levels an area it might be impossible to do them.

Scenarios don’t have the balancing features WoW does. The PUG vs set teams was a huge bone of contention in WoW. Could potentially be an issue in WAR too.

The big problem right now are the queue times. Waiting 50mins to play not on, people can’t going to stand for that for long.

i play it on amd64 3200, 1.5gb memory and an x800

30-60 fps just questing etc, around 20-25 at busy public quests

drops to around 20 in scenarios with a lot of people on screen, my gpu hardly gets warm when playing though it idles at around 40 and when im playing war it only heats upto around 45-46c which is nothing.

other games its hitting 60c easy so i guess war is really cpu demanding and my crap cpu is really holding my gpu back :S

i have nearly all the games settings set to fastest btw but i could probably do balanced if i had more ram.
 
I hope they publish more servers for the weekend.....

still a good game though. better than wow, not sure, but it is as good as and thats a good start.

ColiN - bright mage lvl 7! fear my fireball lol...
