It's funny you should say that, as I haven't scored a single header yet.

I am finding putting a cross on a strikers head much more difficult. I do prefer the heading, I just can't get it to the player yet. My trusted double tap crosses don't seem to be working :(
 
Im sure it will seperate a good player from a bad player when we get used to it though, i havent scored from one either, but do the same as i always did, hold the button after i cross straight away to head, and always jump early.
 
On the subject of headers, with the new "hang in the air" thing, what is the best way to head to ball?

Are you supposed to press and hold when you want to jump, then release as you head it?

OR

Press and hold in advance (I always do this, in fact I always end up tapping repeatedly while the ball is in the air) then release to head it?

What does everyone else do? Have you noticed any difference in trying other techniques?
 
There's only times I really score from headers. Mainly from corners to the near post and the attacker manages to flick it in to the back post, nightmare to defend against, I conceded loads of these too.

Or when your running on the wing and you can see your attacker running towards the box when you double tap, diving header, goooooal (usually)
 
i know im being stupid but where abouts in the settings can i change the speed, i cant find it anywhere :(

oh and one last thing, how do you guys set up the controls for the passing/shooting, do you have it set ti the default assisted?

Once you have picked your teams and there is the option for tactics, game settings and a few other things, go into game settings and push LT(or L2 on the PS3) and it is the bottom option.
 
There's a review in Xbox 360 World - just picked it up today.

To summarise:

81% - main comments are its slower than FIFA08 - matches can get dull and bogged down in midfield battles - but some of the 18 yard box action can be very good - excellent collision system and injury system. Their panel of 'experts' say its a little bit too similar to FIFA08 and not close enough to UEFA 08.

Personally I was hoping for better (it doesn't like the game I've been playing in the demo). Without wanting to be flamed but I'm hoping PES is better - not out of Fanboyism but because it'd be sad if the next gen consoles didn't have a football game worthy of 90%+ review scores.

The review does go on to say the successes from UEFA 08 remain but the game falters slightly and isnt incredible - but is very very good- seems a bit inconsistent to me. But this is a review from a more independent mag - rather than some that are much more bias one way or the other.

Regardless of reviews - the proof will be in the playing!
 
Played the demo a few matches today, and had a good time with it, the non sprinting running with the ball feels less fluid than '08, maybe thats just me? But all in all it feels different but the same, no major complaints!

Managed to score a nice header with Joe Cole which seemed to be a nice new animation? Short cross in to the near post and he ran in, no diving head, but a jumping lunging header, head pointed forwards, nodded it in and ran off on a TimBrad controlled mental celebration :D

I'm looking forward to it, specially carrying out some OcUK leagues and the OcUK 10-a-sides :D
 
Anyone want a game of '08? I need to see whether I've completed lost it or everyone I'm playing is a total rambo. Can't remember the last time I won a game! It's driving me mad!
