Carling Cup Spoilers 23 / 24

Eduardo's tackle was incredibly high, very very reckless and flat out stupid.

No it wasn't. Eduardo's feet were too quick for him. The lad never lunged in at all. You see that tackle happen every week, unfortunately that was the one incident where an injury occured. If anything, this one is worse because Pogatetz was flying into him. My point is, injuries happen and defenders, particularly against skillful players such as Eduardo or Rodrigo do tend to get the first drop on defenders, but the defenders still have to try to make the tackle.

I also disagree about Davies' tackle. It was actually a fantastic tackle from him.

Im glad there wasn't a break there. He's a good promising player and I think out of all of the youngsters we have he along with Anderson are probably the most complete or versatile midfielders we have. So to loose him to a mis timed tackle would have been bad. Hope he gets a quick return and that the matter with Pogatetz is now closed.

I see the media are going over the top about Arsenal's 'youngsters' again.
They're pretty much recycling the same pap they used when the last bunch of 'youngsters' hammered the then 'title contenders' Liverpool 3-6 at Anfield in that CC semi, back then the majority were either full Internationals or first team squad players, it's pretty much the same this time round really and they still haven't won anything.

Blatantly jealous. :p

Sorry, but a team with an average age of 19 beating a Championship side is impressive, regardless of how close to our first team they are.

Who did Arsenal play? A Championship side. :/
Our kids beat a very good Premiership side :p.

I'm not bitter.

Your team had an average age of 23, Arsenal's was 18.5, there's a reason for the plaudits!

That's not to mention that players as young as 16 had fantastic induvidual performances

yeah i cant think of one premiership team apart from arsenal that can put out a side like yesterday that can have the same quality

Eer.. you could be playing for Arsenal's first team week in week out and have 39 caps for your country under your belt but if you're 17 you're 17 - a youngster.

Anyway, very impressed with Arsenal last night. Quality all over the pitch but especially from Ramsey, who is looking every bit worth the price we paid for him, and Carlos Vela, who has been utterly class since he arrived here. Destined to be the next big thing, he just oozes class. His second goal was just outrageous.

Then you are. There's no place in the game for tackles like that.

did'nt see that tackle but i thought the davies tackle on clichy was bad on saterday even though he got the ball he clearly had his other boot trailing to catch clichy , what gets me is bbc motd said it was a good strong challenge and that its ok to do that

I am a United fan and I thought we played some excellent stuff, Pogatetz deservedly sent off for a terrible tackle, glad to hear Possebon is ok.

I was very impressed with Arsenal as well, and particularly Carlos Vela, he looks like he could be one to watch for the future!
