**WoW vs War The discussion thread**

I think WAR, if it continues in it's current direction is an extension to many FPS gamers. That is; the game is basically an FPS-MMORPG rather than a basic feel of an MMORPG.

Hence it's targeted at a segment different to WoW, EQn, Vanguard etc which some of us that don't spend consecutive days playing it have fun. You pick up, you play, you put down and get on with real life. It's convenient game play.
Later I see strategy rather than uber phat lewtz will become the important point at playing just like ET:QW for example.

True it's not a twitch FPS but it's more FPS than any other game I've played.

I agree with you, but i'd add simply that WAR is RvR/PvP centered and WOW is all about PvE, saying that a lot of FPS gamers are more interested in bashing others head than kicking AI ass over and over again.

I've been an hardcore Quake2/3 player at first and when i discovered my first mmo, which was UO, it was all about PvP for me. Then EQ came and i got more interested in PvE but still a lot of FPSer like killing players and having that feeling of frag...

Basically i think the feeling when you PvE or PvP is really different, PvE is more about solo gaming or coop and PvP is more about FPS!

Why do people keep saying wow is all about pve? Warhammer has no more pvp then wow does, it's a con. In wow the world pvp, the BGs wipes the floor over warhammers rubbish animations and boring combat...WoW is still the king by far.

Warhammer has Open RvR zone, Siege engine, keeps, scenarios that are different while you level, some open rvr servers where everywhere is WAR. So yes WAR has more PvP than WoW and that's no doubt :)

WoW world PvP died a few years ago when they introduced BG and later arenas, now what is left is zerging in front of the dungeons when guilds go kill for the 100th times the same boss. WoW has got 4 BGs that's all. I would not call that PvP sorry. I won't even speak about arenas, you just can't win against better stuffed teams or with unkillable combos.

Sure, i won't argue that Warhammer animations are at the moment flawed, but the game just got out, i have no doubt that in a few patches all those minor things will be taken care of. After all animations are just a graphical glitch, you can still play perfectly the game.

WoW is king of grind fest for sure! I don't fancy killing the same monsters a million times to get stuff and then do it again to get more stuff etc..

Don't worry tho, your lovely grind fest won't die anytime soon with the mass of subscribers it has at the moment!

and i will just add, on my server on wow (full pvp realm) the world pvp is exciting and far from dead, yesterday alliance raided crossroads and there was like 60 of them. Everywhere i go i see people, it is a great realm.

You should worry, because warhammer is heading down the conan road :D lol..I threw my copy in the bin it was that bad

Wow, level 70s zerked a lvl 10 town? Now thats what I call PvP :rolleyes:.
If you can't see how WAR has more PvP than WoWs few pointless BGs (i.e. they do nothing outside of their own small grind system), then you sir, I call a WOW fanatic feeling threatened by all the good comments about WAR.

WOW has nice PvE, WOW has not got good PvP.

btw you have no actual reasons behind you claims just statements. As for the raid xroads yea happens all the time on my server..... great bunch of allys wipe xroad then run off great bit of pvp right there :rolleyes:
 
I found Warhammers public quests dull and boring, and i would love to know how you do them when the game dies in a year. The scenearios are no better than wows BGs, so i don't understand what the fuss is there. And as for the "RVR" i went to the first RVR area i could to test it, and there was not one person there, and this was 2 days after release. The ideas are nice, but they fail. Wows pvp is exiciting, fluid, and fun. Warhammers is laggy, and dull.

And i will say this to end....To you slating wow saying it is a grind and the pvp sucks, i am willing to bet you have played wow for years and you WILL play Wrath.

WOW > WARHAMMER, CONAN, LOTORO, and every other piece of tosh that attempts to beat the king.

You are clearly biased by Wow :)

Warhammer is way better and way more polished than Conan ever will be. The game is playable, it has end game and class are not overly unbalanced. Saying that and seeing has the game is like 2 week old, i have absolutely no doubt that it will not die :)

WoW is always the same, it's quite simple, (1) whipe till you can kill boss -> kill boss get loot -> repeat point one with next boss

I have played WoW i can't deny it, it has its good points, but it gets boring doing the same old thing everytime. I also played DAoC and RvR has the advantage to be different everytime so has WAR. I will not touch WOTLK tho, i can't be arsed to get back to the start case and grind again 10 level to do the exact same thing in a different environement.

For me WoW hasn't really anything special more than that.

I am biased to wow? Yeah because it is clearly a hellish better game. I am a fanboy to the best game, simple as that. People just don't like my opinion because it is true.

Yes i play wow i like wow doesnt mean i cant like war too. Even though im an avid wow player WARs pvp side of thing kicks anything wow has to offer pvp wise.
As for your "i went to first rvr place to test it, there was no one there" comment wtf are you playing at was you hiding in a corner ? was you even in an rvr area.
Every rvr open or instanced has been packed for me.

Be really really honest here, what level did you get to, and how long did you play the game?
Firstly wow has 4 scenarios, and they are not all insta accessible. WAR has 3 scenarios per tier, so thats 12 from the off. WOW has no world PvP. If you like to zerg a level 10 town (which you think is great PvP), it is still ultimately pointless. WAR has PvP from level one, and the end game is over 80% PvP.
PvP at every level means something and aids your side.
And the past week I've been busy booby trapping siege engines, tipping hot oil on people manning battering rams, and enjoying world PvP battles with 80-100+ people in.

WAR has never stated it wants to beat WOW, but it beats WOW in PvP, which shows in their desperation to have a 'PvP zone'. Too little, too late, and once again, stinks of desperation and *gasp* copying :rolleyes:.

Lol i have played Warhammer, the only possitive i had for the game was i liked the classes, that is it. I waited for Warhammer for ages and was really excited, but to me it's not even as good as conan. The animations are just horrible, and i can't see a simple little patch changing that because why didn't they do it before releasing the game? It's just not in WoWs league i am afraid :)
