Neither am I![]()
Loads of 200-250hp FWD would be faster in the real world driven by 95% of drivers than a equivilant RWD.
I just don't understand how you can rule out a car just cause of the wheels it powers. What FWD cars have you driven other than a Bora
I have sat in over 1000 of my cousin's cars don't you know? I know a good car when I see it....
I have driven enough FWD cars in various states of tune to form a valid opinion. I can rule out a car for having FWD in the same way I can rule out a car for having a diesel engine. No matter how well a FWD car is set up, it doesn't drive like a RWD car. I prefer RWD, it's as simple about that. What part of that can you not understand?
The Bora cheap shot was both pathetic and amusing, though.
Can't even be bothered to form a coherent response, as it's too damned predictable![]()
Budget = £10,000
Choices:
Focus ST Not driven, seems ok but a bit common
Focus RS Not driven, bit better than an ST in my books
Mondeo ST220 Not for me at all

Civic Type R (newer) Bread van tbh
Astra VXR Torque steer much
Vectra VXR Rep.com
BMW 330ci (will probably win but for a budget of £10,000 would you want to?) Not driven, would love to though so I can join *** BMW discussion. Still too common for my liking

(Yes this is a hidden spec me thread)
If 'driver satisfaction' is a must then put an Elise S1 111s on that list.
I have sat in over 1000 of my cousin's cars don't you know? I know a good car when I see it....
Imo performance FWD cars are great fun to drive.
Ironically I had much more fear of oversteer in the crappy FWD DC5 than I did driving the super pure RWD 330ci.
Go figure.
What is there to figure other than your preference for a DC5?
The fact a FWD offered a more RWD experience than a RWD?
My Rover Turbo also drove like a RWD around corners.
It drove like a RWD? So you are in a corner, you apply lots of power and the back end breaks free into a slide? Yeah, okay.
