I would rather trust my own judgement than somebody else's ;)

I would like to play it, but there's no way I'm spending money on another PS3 game that will potentially just sit unplayed after the first half-hour, which is what has happened with all of my PSN purchases so far.

Dude I've just read this,

"It's definetly an issue with some EU PSN accounts. I just tried loggin in with my USA account and the game works flawlessly. Using the EU one it freezes.

Funny thing is Review code acted exactly like this. Work with USA account. Freezes with EU one. But in that case I though it was just some kind of bug with unfinished code or whatever."

See if it makes difference playing the game from your US acc, hope it works for you.

The guy is close. The actual problem is the number of people on your friends list by all accounts (under 50 you are OK, over 50 you are not).

Other people have tested and had same result as the guy above, although they noticed their USA friends list were empty or <50 when their Eu account is over 50.

Not faffing around deleting people, will have to play Single Player till a fix arrives or play on USA account (not ideal as friends list is empty).

Ah well...

Yes, although I would try again as yours has different symptoms.
Either way, if our symptoms are different post them in that EU PS3 thread to help out if you can spare a few secs.

I have a feeling there's something up with the PSN. None of my friends list is loading. Maybe Wipeout's problems have something to do with that?

I have a 60gig launch day console and have been playing the game for over an hour with no freezes or crashes.
I only have about 25 people on my friends list.
Graphics and gameplay are very good.
