Games that should be brought up to date...

Some good suggestions, especially Unreal, Elite, Stunt Car Racer, Xenon 2 (as long as it still has Bomb the Bass soundtrack), Syndicate and Repton. These all had me nodding in agreement.

I'd like to see an updated Crazy Taxi game - same great gameplay but nicer graphics please. Also, Sega's Virtua Racing and Outrun (the version they did of Outrun a couple of years back doesn't count as it was crap).

Gauntlet - why hasn't this been updated over the years? Few old Hewson games... Firelord (anyone else remember that?), Cybernoid and Uridium.

Lemmings... and Llamatron.

xcom:Enemy Unknown (UFO:Enemy Unknown) The 1st gen and the best.

Music was so scary and nothing since has matched it, i still remember arming a high explosive in the ship ready to chuck, then the aliens mind scared him, he dropped explosive... everyone dead ship lost.

One game which i have been desperately waiting for someone to recreate well , which i see already mentioned above by GarethDW is Elite :p
Probably my favourite game of all time and the only game that comes anywhere near it is in my opinion Freelancer.

Also
Final Fantasy 7 - Need i say more ;)
Tenchu Stealth Assassin (the first one) love stealth games and the soundtrack is superb :D
Silent Hill 1 - The most disturbing and twisted game ive ever played (except maybe for manhunt)

UFO:Enemy Unknown - Amazing when it came out, still play it regularly. Modern attempts to update it have been poor.

System Shock 2 - Awesome game, the atmosphere!

Anyone remember a game caled Oids on the Atari ST? I wonder how they could spruce that up with modern graphics.

I agree with the docking proceedure as it was fiendishly difficult until mastered, especially with the distraction of combat.

Docking was easy if you had an analogue stick which didn't self centre, just set it at the right angle and jobs a good un:).

Loved this game on the BBC B.

Tresspasser.

Imagine, walking onto that beach in Crysis, as a T rex roars in the distance, you see a flock of birds in the distance fly off as the trees begin to move, the ground begins to shake, then you realise, the tree that are morving, are making a bee line for YOU!

Stuff wet dreams are made of...

MGS was already redone on the Gamecube and subtitled "Twin Snakes".
Yeah I saw that - but it used other voices which were rubbish in comparison
Also it would be nice to see MGS on the PS3 ;) It looked great in MGS4 and think the rest should be done ;)
