Star Wars: Force Unleashed Demo

I'm enjoying it too but the bosses are a real pain in the butt. I found a website which gives a guide on each boss though so that's helped.

Its during the bosses or battles with additional enemy that I get most frustrated. You jump in the air facing a rancor, you can only see the rancor on screen. You hit force lightening and you hit some easy kill trooper off screen and have wasted some of your force power.

I'm going to have to finish this tonight because the mrs has had enough of the swearing.

Someone tell me how the star destroyer got through any form of playtesting.

No skill is involved just a lot of luck with the worst targetting known to man.

Taking out the tiefighters on the star destroyer level turned out to be quite simple, you just push in the direction of the tiefighters with the left stick, wait for the blue reticule to appear and then lightning bolt them. I was getting quite good at it after a few goes(assuming this is the same level were talking about :))

The boss fights are particularly cheap.
Yeah boss fights are infuriating as you have to guess what the designer intended for you to take them down.

btw, Have you tried changing the lock button(right shoulder) to "toggle" so once your locked on a target you stay locked on it until you press the right shoulder again. I dont think all the combos work properly unless you have the target highlighted. That may help on one or two of the bosses. I havent tried it yet myself.

The trouble I had with the star destroyer was when you had to pull it down. The guide for the sticks is wrong. It was saying pull the nose down. I did that and the sticks would never go green to pull down.

I did some searching and found that it's a problem with the destroyer at a certain position. So you do the opposite of what it's telling you then you can pull it down again.

As for the story being tied into the existing star wars stories well they kinda ****ed that up. Obviously thats hard to discuss without it being a spoiler.

Without discussing spoilers, I don't see how they could have ****ed it up any more than what they already had done with the with Episode I to Clone Wars (if the reviews are to be believed).

If anything this has to be an improvement on that tripe.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for preordering your copy of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed from ****.co.uk

As promised in our previous communication we have been in contact with the publisher of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed in regards to resolving the game save issues that some users were experiencing once they had redeemed their preorder codes.

Unfortunately the publisher has now advised us that it will not be possible to resolve the issues with the 2 codes that we have already sent. However fear not! – They have instead provided you with an exclusive comprehensive costume mastercode!

Contained within The Force Unleashed there are 32 separate costumes, across over a dozen separate characters, each with their individual codes, which LucasArts have secretly built in.

This exclusive mastercode will allow you to unlock all 32 costumes so you can customise your experience as often as you like. Choose whether to unleash the force as any character from the Emperor to Senator Bail Organa!

Complete 32 Costume Unlock Master Code: SOHNDANN

Thank you for you patience regarding your preorder.

Kind Regards,

The Customer Service Team

Hahaha yeah agreed, what messes with it a bit for me is who this star killer meets while discussing the rebellion. Surely she would have mentioned it at some point that oh yeah by the way I met this sith apprentice.

In none of the books that follow on when Luke is tracking down Sith does she mention this star killer. I'm reckoning that all of a sudden that memory will appear in one of the follow on novel and some poor writer is going to have to work that one out :D

I have done both endings now and I do like how you keep all your powers if you hit continue instead of new game. If you go the sith route you start again on the tie bay level with the character you became after selecting the sith path.

Yeah the stick thing wasnt clear, and it went on forever too. Its a shame really as that sequence "looked" very good imo :)

As for the Star Wars prequels, they seemed to reach ground breaking levels of bad. The story, casting and acting all sucked.

Incidentally if anyone cares you can read a review and listen to the music from the game at the following link:

I must admit I'm a sucker for SW music, and I just love the heavy brass in the title track.

Lucas has said that it's only the light side ending that is canon, the dark side ending obviously couldn't be :) The rest of the game - the buildup to the endings - is canonised.

You see my point though on who he meets doesn't fit in? Do you or have you read the expanded universe books, this star killer just doesn't fit.

Sure the Vader fits in with what we saw of Anakins powers in ROTS but where does he lose all that power for Star wars :D

He beats seven shades out of Star Killer ramming him all over the place.

The book will be interesting to see how they explain some stuff. They have made this guy look too powerfull like they did Maul, it kinda makes Luke look weaker than the books lead us to believe he is.

I think Lucas needs to remake the originals ;)

Yeah I agree with you there, it doesn't really sit well that Starkiller is such a badass and Luke is all introspective and clearly a slow learner of the Force comparitively. I can't imagine Luke besting SK in a fight, yet he beats Vader - as does SK, which makes you wonder whether Vader is basically pretty crap when you get down to it? :)

EDIT: I haven't read the books no, but I'm quite keen to read them. I'm quietly hoping there will be a film based around SK but I'm not holding out too much hope.

In the books Vader was ready to take the Emp himself. The part you see in the empire when his helmet goes back on, well vader was preparing himself to live without the suit.

The books always describe Luke as the most powerful force user, with a couple close. He's certainly regularly described as the best with a lightsabre. Obviously in ROTJ he was pretty much untrained. I guess it's just a game but they went a little OTT with the force use and gave up with the lightsabre combat.

If you ever get chance to start working through the books you wont regret it, almost every story is better than anything lucas has had a hand in.

Some of the later stuff is brilliant once Luke has a whole bunch of jedi masters trained.

Luke didn't learn the force until much later in his life compared to Anakin, so it makes sense that it would take him considerable time to pick it up.

I'm not sure how Force Unleashed is meant to fit in in terms of Vader's powers, but last time I read wookipedia it suggested that the Emperor gave Vader the older tech suit deliberately to impede his force powers. Perhaps as Vader got older his control of the force dwindled because of his health, age and effort to live in the suit combined.

I haven't read the books either, but I always thought that the Emperor wanted Luke to replace Vader. I supposed this was due to him being fit and healthy by comparison.

I completed it today. Loved the force powers and stuff. Hated the the level design. Also the graphics of the levels were not that good either. On my 360 I had lots of tearing. Loved the story :)

Thinking of buying it. But i might wait till it comes down in price.

Which of the extended universe books are worth reading btw?

This is the most irritating game I have played in a long time. I like it, but there are so many times when I am stuck in a corner with about 8 things firing at me and keep falling over. Then you add in the snipers. Not even sure I'll milk this for the 1000 points.

Is there a general opinion on whether this is worth getting for the Wii? It's on TWO too!

Well I've completed it with the canon ending. Only had it two days and I've been in work! The story alone makes it worth the £23 I paid for it. Sure the game play had it's flaws, but overall it was enjoyable and well worth my time.

I've read that the graphics are disappointing.
