When's the next Battlefield game?

Does anyone know when the next BF game is coming to PC Proper one I mean, like BF2/BF2142 etc. Nothing beats it for online play (esp BF2).

It's been too long! They need to get going on another one.

When apparantly its gonna be Battlefield 3, no hint of Release dates or teasers or trailers have been released, just talk.
I would think sometime next year though.
Oh and also there is wide talk of a new patch to BF2 after years of not releasing a patch, so guess thats kinda good news.

agreed though...they need another out soon. 2142 has run it life now and BF2 i only play occasionally...I needs another. But Hey...Battlefield Heros must be about very soon

Personally I've gone back to Battlefield 2, playing the AIX mod, it's fantastic!

Considering theres nothing but rumours thats just guessing. All the stuff that was "leaked" ages ago pointed towards ea anouncing it in something like january 08, that never happened either.

Ive no doubt there will be another, as to when or what time period it will be set thats anyones guess.

1942 yep can't deny is still great for a good run once in a while. there's still a good 800+ servers sometimes some of them are packed still.

I loved PR mod for BF2 up until the latest update. I might actually give BF1942 with Desert Mod a go never tried it and I assumed that it would be long dead by now.

Id like to see a bf game were the infantry combat is as good as vehicle combat. 1942 the infantry combat was pretty bad, battlefield 2 it was exploit central, 2142 i never bothered with much but i seen plenty of dolphin diving in that as well. The whole focus of the bf games seems to be on vehicles with infantry combat almost being an afterthought.

just downloading this now, ive read that its mainly focused on SP but what is the MP actually like ?
