What car do you drive and why?

I do love it when people say this as if its something amazing and that the M3 drivers should be ashamed or something.

Well admittedly it is no mean feat for sure. Could be any other vehicle of similar performance.

However it's the look on the drivers face. Bewilderment, embarrassment, confussion - all neatly placed in a scrunched up angry ball on their shoulders.

I have never witnessed the same type of behaviour from drivers in a different brands of car. I don't know what else to say other than I find it highly amusing. Tickles me it really does.

Drives - Mondeo ST220 - Why? Because I had only been driving a year at the time and I wanted something quick but refined but wasnt an absolute pita to insure, it is safe for my lack of experience and has all the toys I could need, as well as fitting all my stuff in the boot such as my bike etc it has taken me round europe couple of times with 2 mates and had loads of space left. I also think it looks great and the sound of the engine is just amazing for a v6.

Next car? Well depends but I wouldnt mind a BMW Z4M or if I have the cash saved up might push for a 996 carrera. But times change so no point getting my hopes up, shall be keeping the 220 for a bit longer yet.

Drives - Jeep Cherokee - for sale as soon as I get it back from my mechanic with new rear springs.

Next -Something Japanese with good power and 4WD. Although right now my saving money is going on my model railway - I'm not kdding either LOL :D

Only in your dreams. Come on, the fact that there is lots of big BHP turbocharged jap stuff around is news to nobody let alone M3 drivers.

Haha lol. The last time it happened I had to pinch myself. Then I woke up. News to me???

Anyway Foxy it's Friday evening. I did not mean the breakfast sentence for anything other than an idea of performance, given that most people would be familiar with M3's.

The angry bmw face is true though.

To quote yourself :

:D

:D I can't buy until may! Just checked the calender and that's a whole 8 months away until I get out of uni :( Although I can go on some test drives  Hopefully It is what I want..

On average I probably spend 3 hours a day looking at cars I have days when I think ZOMGGG!! I'm going to buy a *lotus esprit!* (or any other impractical performance car)

But when I come back to it the vx220 makes the most sense insurance, practicality, reliability, performance and servicing wise.. It's likely that I will be getting a train to work so It's a weekend car :D

It's going to be black with some black vxr speedlines :D

Just got to keep saving.. (I hope I like my new job I start tues and have already put myself down for extra time this week )

Mazda MX6 2.5 V6 ,bought a cheap car as my last cost me £1000's in repairs (clio 1.6 rxe) so I got a chuck away one ,its been great and is 100 times better than my last two french cars .

Not sure I get you...

All he said was his car eats M3's for breakfast...

There was no mention of drivers and no mention of any shameful human trait..

Current:
205 gti 1.9 + Clio 182

Why:
Two very similar cars from very different era's. I cant fault either.

Next:
Maybe a R26-R in a year but probably a R26.

drives -
mg ztt 190+
'78 bay crewcab.
don't drive the MG anymore WHY, cos I got a crewcab :D it's awesome

next -
that damn beetle sitting in my garage with a 2276 turbo
the crewie with the 3.2 carerra & 5 speed fitted

that will do me - maybe then some M3 for breakfast / logs off & moves house !!

Current:

S14 200sx

Why:

I wanted rwd and decentish power, preferably turbocharged with a £4k budget. I also needed to be able to fit a bike inside the car and be able to carry 4 people occasionally. I couldn't find anything else that fitted.

Next:

A biggish rwd estate with more power.

Current car: Smart fortwo

Why: After i crashed my 106gti i wanted something a little cheaper to run, having got a smart as a curtesy car i thought it was great so i got myself one.

Wouldn't mind: my dad has a V8 4 litre RangeRover which i love driving, but probly couldnt afford the fuel.

Current car 1: BMW 330ci Sport

Why: Because I haven't sold it yet :p Honestly I bought it because it ticked all the right boxes at the time Fast, Reliable, Handles well, plenty of gadgets and looks good. It was/it is a great car and in my personal opinion one of BMWs best cars.

Current car 2: Ford Mustang v8 GT

Why: It's different and bonkers, sounds mean, looks great (again personal opinion) requires more focus when pushed hard so great drivers car(although simple to drive a low speed), seems to be very popular with everyone that sees it and most importantly of all its fun to drive, be it popping to the shops or going for a nice long drive. Puts a huge grin on my face every time I take it out.

Next car: Hard one to guess but in no rush as I have several things I'd like to do to the Mustang first. From owning this though I'm pretty sure whatever car I have next will be something of the same style.

Honda Integra Type R (DC2)

Why: Because they are flippin' amazing! I've always loved the DC2 and wanted one for years and when I managed to get the cash together to buy a decent one I waited months for the right one to come up. Spent ages reading up and researching them and the more time I spent doing that the more I wanted one. Just love the looks and how focused it feels, even driving to the shops is enjoyable.

Next: I’ll hang on to the teg for another year or two at least at which point I’ll probably start looking at S2k’s, VX220’s and Elises. If funds permit in a couple of years time i'd also consider an evo x.
