Sky+HD + Standard box + broadband = £52month
Erm, I pay £57 and have sports and movies!
Sky HD isn't worth the tenner without sport and/or movies IMO.

If you're waiting on 1080p broadcasts you're going to be waiting a very long time before you make the move to HD.
Seriously - the bandwidth requirements for 1080p broadcasts are massive.
It'll be years until we see it.
That's why people are happy to buy plasma screens - these are obviously not 1080p.
However as SD and HD broadcasts for now and the future don't require 1080p all you lose is the 1080p when watching Bluray etc (which although stunning is something people are willing to miss).
Erm I think you'll find there are quite a few 1080p plasmas kicking around now. I have a Panasonic 42PZ81B sat in my front room which is full hd. Looks pretty bloody good using SD, Sky HD looks really good at 1080i and Blu-Ray HD-DVD look incredible and its still running in so isn't configured properly yet either.
BTW there are a whole bunch of new HD Movie channels coming in October + some others as well.
Quick question about SkyHD box. Does it have to be used with HDMI or can you use component?
