64bit Vista better?

Love 64bit except for two things; no flash for 64bit browsers and Freewire doesn't work.

Neither of those make any sense at all.

1: Flash works perfectly fine

2: I have a Sony Freewire (read: Firewire) DV Camcorder which I import videos from just fine!

The flash issue indicates it's on a 64bit browser only, that would mean to see the issue you'd be using IE7 64bit - why would you complain of the issue when the 64bit version of IE has no major benefit over the 32bit version? on 64bit Vista you get to choose if you want to use 64 or 32bit.

Better yet why use IE when Opera and Firefox are better alternatives with more control and don't have such issues!

My point is why complain about unstable 64bit version of flash when hardly anyone uses the 64bit version of IE? and the only 64bit browser being IE7 which is a choice use anyway because the 32bit version is default ?

Why not? The only reason I don't use IE7 x64 is because of the lack of compatible x64 flash...

Freewire is a network television service at our uni but doesn't support 64 bit. It is a tad annoying some companies still haven't made 64bit versions of their software

ANYWAY! everyone knows

why doesnt everyone just get a 64bit OS and future proof their system more? OS can be transfered to another computer in the future anyway....

I've had Vista X64 Home premium for a week now and am starting to like it.
Spent a week or so googling a few tweaks here and there, but I did that with XP back in the day as well.

Following most guides I started knocking off all the disk thrashing programs like Defender and Defragger, but I stopped short at the Indexing and Prefetch programs.
At first it looked worrying to see every single byte my spare RAM (4GB) disappearing during the 1st 5 mins of every reboot. The system seems even slow for that whole period.
But after that the HDD light stops completely (unless you have a sata cdd) and you realise you basically have a system with ramdrive. All the programs I use daily start instantaniously. I have my old XP system behind me (with raptor drive) and another with raid, but they don't come close to opening programs, games and os functions as X64 Vista does with a single drive.

First thing I'll be doing is buying another 4GB and see if this prefetch feature will preload ALL my games :)

I surprised how many guides out there advocate disabling superfetch..am I missing something?

For speed of OS with 4GB+ , yes, X64 is better. :)
