The Wipeout HD Information Thread

could you add me to the wipeout hd championship list please , saterday at 8pm would be best but i can only do 2 saterdays a month, does that rule me out?

It seems to be the general concencus that you should use your boost not up the ramp but instead when you've gone round the first corner, you have 3 offset boost pads in a row and then the track goes up a bit then drop away around a corner. If you boost here you can get a lor of air and squeeze in 2 barrel rolls in a row. Takes a fair bit of practice but can be done
 
great game, but one thing is bugging me:

how is the "friends" filter meant to work? is it friends playing or do do they have to be hosting?

i have many ocukers on my friends list, and even when i have a few friends playing wipeout per the xmb, the friends filter always shows nothing.

Friends hosting and friends playing mate, i managed to meet up with Hus_uk by accident on some random server. I think people are just trying to unlock all the ships and tracks at the moment so the online will get busier in the next week or so.
 
Just in case some people dont know in this thread but Whappers has kindly setup a Wipeout HD tournament here

I tried earlier and could only get a 32.3 something. Not keen on the Piranha ship for that track :(

i was complaining about nose bobiing up a lot, well had the motion sensor on. now its off i like the game even more. these types of games i always play first person view, but recently with the new games im actually better using third person?? whats going on? have they done something to first person view? or is it because im getting old.
 
Cockpit view on Wipeout is just plain suicide. Some of the corners and sections are very twisty or bumpy. Inside the cockpit you really cant see the corner till you crash into the wall sometimes.
 
I'm unable to get a Gold in the 4th grid on the venita time trial, it's doing my nut, i missed it by 20 miliseconds.

I can do all of them bar the one off the ramp onto the shortcut - that one I've only managed once :(

If I can get that then I'l stand a chance of beating his time, until then i got no chance.
 
OK Im gonna do a few hours later tonight :)

Cant be shamed by you lot too longer - when do you get to Zico?
