Thx for the thoughts mark, either way tad disapointed but tbh it was too be expected we all know about VA panels being better, this isnt a bad thing just means we need Ocuk too get those stunning 24" Ocuk screens in or elsewhere again @ £190 its there but some are saying some are TN cheap knock offs and not the VA panels :(

Ill upload the pics ive taken when i get to work tomorrow (card reader is there).

It keeps seperate settings for different inputs which is great, ive got it looking really good while playing the 360. Still tweaking the pc, but messing with the saturation has given me a better setup that previously.

Could i ask a favour from one of you guys that has one of these monitors? Can you try a few games at 1280x720 and give some thoughts on how the scaling looks? If possible a photo would be great.

I am looking for a new monitor (currently have an ancient Iiyama TN) and i also like the 16:9 aspect ratio because i use my home PC almost exclusively for games/movies. Only problem is that i am not someone who stays on the bleeding edge graphics card-wise so i like to play at 1280x720 as you can make a modest card go a long way.

This monitor is 1900x1080 res, is a 1900x1200 res still hd....i want a hd monitor but am a bit confused about resolutions available....any advice on what to go for please

thx

1920x1200 is above Full HD so you can watch Blu-Ray etc.. with no loss of quality. Only difference to 1920x1080 is the extra vertical resolution, so if you watch a Blu-Ray or whatever the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen will be a little bit thicker on a 1920x1200 screen.

If you do any kind of work on your pc you would probably want to go for a 1920x1200 screen as the extra vertical space is useful. If you are mostly playing games or watching movies then 1920x1080 might be the better option.

It's all down to personal preference, one is Full HD (ie: the same resolution as all the Full HD TV sets you get today) the other is slightly bigger. Both will disply all current HD stuff no problem.

Im going to take the plung and get one of these, need to get off this flamin 17" widescreen monitor :P

selling my 26" HDTV, Getting this monitor for my PC (in sig), hooking the PS3 up to it aswell, getting PlayTV, problems solved :D

I run most my games at 720p as my HD3870 doesn't really cut it at 1080p. Looks spot on to me. You can tell the difference between the two but it still looks really good. 1080p looks sharper if that makes sense. I've no camera i'm afraid so can't do any photos.

Actually the viewing angles are similar, i hadnt used the samsung for a while, but pretty similar.

Its a decent enough screen, but rather than being a £200 bargain, its more a £200 seems about the right price for it. I think ill be swapping it back over for my digimate tomorrow, and ill use the dell at work.

Thanks for the pics, the scaling looks much better than i expected. Think i'm going to grab one of these, or maybe wait for the 23" version.

hmmm theres also the BenQ E2400HD about to launch within days, seems to use the same panel but looks better aesthetically to me and has 2ms and dynamic contrast. decisions..decisions
