Does anyone else think GOW is quite awful?

Maybe awful is too strong a word, I mean graphics yes, very good, good work on making everything dark and moody.

But as a game I cannot fathom how it has been so widly recieved, I find the levels restrictive and boring, check points that make you go back to points that are badly position'd etc etc, I just got bored so quickly and tried to go back to it this week but gave up again.

I think im a minority here, but I had to ask lol :D

We talking Gears of War or God of War? Gears singleplayer was fantastic if a little short in my opinion. Thought the multiplayer was terrible though.

God of War...never played it.

Great graphics, boring and repetetive gameplay.

I'll rent GoW2 but I probably won't enjoy it a great deal if it is much of the same.

So yes, I completely agree with you.

I feel the opposite. Single player was ok - much better in co-op - but multiplayer is one of the most team focussed and strategic games i've played. 4 vs. 4 with a bunch of friends working together is hard to beat.

I think the problem with gears was that they cut too much out of the story to get it released and so the story doesnt actually make much sense. I think the limited edition had some extra info in the booklet etc about whats going off but even still, why was marcus in prison and what went off at his trial, whats the big deal about his dad and that house etc??

I never really played through it on co-op, never really play co-op on anything its either single or traditional multiplayer. Really didnt like this in multiplayer, just felt slow and clunky in comparison to other games that are available.

I'll no doubt give the sequel a run out at some point, but not for a while at least as I;ve got loads of games waiting to be finished and I'm trying not to buy anymore.

Don't thinks it's bad, it's a solid game, that just appeals to the right kind of average joe.

Just like the halo series, which I wouldn't consider groundbreaking, I find GoW average, it's good in small bursts.

i loved it though i played it all the way through co-op and some of online. pretty short though and a wtf ending but other than that it was fun, loads of action and very pretty.

I was under the impression that it was awesome, so I bought it with my Xbox. I played it for about half an hour and got so bored that I gave it to my driving instructor as a present for getting me through my test. :p A bit ridiculous considering the amount of money I've given him already... But I had no better use. :p
