How much do you spend on food shopping per week

Local butchers, £70 for a rib of beef is not unheard of.
No indeed, and good man. I've heard people call meat quality stuff when its "free range" bought from a supermarket.

Best meal I've had in ages was a roast I cooked: some of our CamCattle Beef (free range beef hand reared in Cambridge, we bought a job lot of the stuff and will be eating it for a year :p), home grown potatoes roasted to my special recipe, carrots, peas and beans, home made yorkshire puddings, and naturally proper gravy. Yum :).

Nice one, I don't know many other people that do that!

Geoff, my housemate, is almost wholly self sufficient, indeed he's going to start keeping pigs soon. Has taught me loads recently.

between me, girlfriend and cat we spend about £15 a week at tescos, and every 2 weeks £10 at butchers.

we mostly eat pasta and soups, we just buy ingredients and make everything from scratch. my gf is vegiterian.

every so often we spend bout £25 in 1 week when we need shampoo deoderant etc

Umm my mum spends on are family around £100-150 thats when my brother is down from Uni, so there is 6 of us all together then. She seems to not buy any tesco value stuff though mostly organic/free range because she watches too much Jamie Oliver i suppose.

What do you eat !!!!

I can spend £10 - £15 on a chicken alone !!!!

About £20-40 a week on "home food". It's hard to tell as I do a massive shop every 3/4 weeks and then towards the end just scav on scraps and put random things together because I can't be bothered to go shopping again.

I probably spend the same amount on "out food" - I buy my work lunch every day and eat out about once a week, maybe a takeway in there somewhere too.

I live in a three bed room house with my wife and two sons in their early twenties

Our food bill seems to have gone up and up recently

What budget do you work to
Any good ideas for making savings

On a seperate note how much are you paying for gas and electricity per quarter

whoa... whoa whoa.......

Hold up here a second daisy.

Two sons in their twenties living at home???

i live with my gf and we spend around 30 per week, usually shopping at Aldi :D
our electric bill between 31st july - 8th september was £15.15
scottish power owes us £37.35

I live with my girlfriend and I have a cat - total food bills are about £250 a month I'd say, so around £60 ish per week.

How the hell is your electric that cheap? I thought my £180 gas/electric bill for the quarter was dirt cheap.

Probably about £50 per week between me and the other half and food for our 3 year old. Taking into account the food for our 7 month old would probably push this upto £60 per week.

only things i leave on are hte fridge and the odd occasion i turn on the white meter heating, everything else is switched off, from the socket, we live on the first floor so its not freezing like a ground floor flat.

EDIT: we're on a discounted package until october 2009 by scottish power.

ps we have no pets.

Your location is proof you're telling the truth. :)

Oh how I wish my 'leccy bill was that low... *cries*

I usually spend around £60 - £80 for 5 people. Thats with a £9 money off voucher taken off as i usually always find one every week.

There will be 2 types of replies:

1) "I spend £5 per week between 14 of us, we eat very healthily too"

2) "I spend £400 per week living alone, plus meals out every night, i am cool"

You forgot the third reply of recent threads, where you seem to tell people what types of people will reply to said thread..
