Crysis Warhead -slightly jerky on HD4870-gamer settings

I have 4gb ram. you really do need 4gig for this game me thinks. btw, try directx 9 mode. It seems to use less ram. But dude, ram is so cheap these days and going foward, you really do need 4 gig :)

If on Vista 32then that's not really enough since the OS is going to be using almost 2GB RAM normally and Crysis/Warhead both use beyond 1.5GB RAM as you get into the game with Gamer/High settings.

I get 25-30fps 1920x1080 Enthusiast settings on a 4870 and 8GB ram

its is not even a year old you baboon :o 11 december 2007

err. I was not referring to that you "baboon"! its based on technology that is 2 years+ old. 8800's have been around since 2006. So yeah I am correct in what I am saying. Your card is just a rehash of that tech. Not saying its a bad card. It just cant run Crysis like the 4870 can, at least your one cant obviously.

If the game runs like ****, its coz of your system, not the game. As it runs sweet on mine. So go spread your lies elsewhere. Its a demanding game and that's the end of it.

I have Vista 64bit :)

Hummuh maybe flinco means it hits the max of 35 fps which a 4870 would easily do.

Maybe he has got a good clocking 4870. But without details of what res he plays at it difficult to verify. To be honest I doubt he could improve on the FPS in the database without a patch for crysis warhead or a driver release from ATI as the ati users results are all in a few FPS of each other.

You will get a nice boost. Make sure you run it on direct x 9 mode if you want the extra fps. I get like 8fps extra by using dx9 and the only difference is lighting. dx10 the sun is brighter, and so is objects. No big deal though. I prefer the extra 8fps as it means no lag when fighting with lots of Koreans/ ice level.

With dx10 I got some lag on ice levels mainly, so I switched to gamer setting and lag was gone. But I prefer dx9 mode and enthusiast setting instead. Also just sold my 4870 512mb version and paying extra £30 to go for the 1gig version @ my resolution it will help and more future proof also.

Anyway, I apologise for being a bit rude with you, just the things you were saying did not represent everyone, but just yourself and you made it sound like its like that for everyone. Have fun :)
