Just purchased a 4850 from the MM and it arrived yesterday. (thanks to GT Junkie
)
Anyway I un-installed the Nvidia drivers using driver cleaner pro but before I did this I ran 3d Mark 06 just to give me a reference point for when I put the 4850 in.
Score came in at 11919.
Card card and software then removed and then the 4850 was installed along with ATI drivers.
Ran 3d Mark 06 again and score came in at 10989..WTF...!!!!!
Tried crysis warhead and its noticeably slower and choppier and so is Stalker Clear Sky. Both on exactly the same settings as before. I cant tell the difference on COD4 but the frame rates on that are so high it would be hard to tell anyway. This is on Vista 64 ultimate.
So is there anywhere I should be looking for a settings change. Maybe bios or somewhere else. Additionally I have a HTPC with an OC'd E2200 and an 8800GTS 512 and this scores 12382 rest of it is just cheapy stuff picked up from MM and the bay etc. So could my PSU affect this? I'm using a Jeantech Storm 700w modular PSU (bought from the purple shirts place). It is SLI & Crossfire certified so I thought this would fine but am aware that its not what I'd call a top brand (cost me £70 though)
Main rig spec below:
E6320 @ 3.6gig (akasa revo cooler)
4gb G-Skill PC8500 @ 1057mhz (1:1) 5-5-5-12
HD4850 512mb (stock speeds)
MSI P35 Neo2 FR mobo
4 x Seagate 320gb Sata2 hdd's Raid 0 array
Coolermaster CM90 case with 6 x 120mm fans & 6 channel fan controller
Sorry for short novel above chaps but any help appreciated.
Cheers..!!
