Watching that programme "long way.." currently on BBC2.
Wow does it bring back some memories. There is nothing like a gap year. Absolutely nothing. The things you see and do in one day, you would not do in a year of normal life.
Also going on a 2 week holiday just doesn't compare. You can't get into the same mindset in two weeks as you can in 3month+ away. When you're away for just a few weeks, yeah you can relax but at the back of your mind is always your return. Whereas when you're away travelling becomes your life - you're only thinking of your next holiday, your next adventure.
My god would i love to do it again. Yes, earning a good wage and doing a good job is satisfying, also one cannot live carefree - and in order to tarvel you need money. But I would love to go again soo much!
If you are starting uni, or have just finished and don't know waht to do...MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A GAP YEAR AT HE END OF UNI...if not before you start...or both!!
