New L4D footage!!

The whole point of zombie games is the sheer amount of them being the issue, not their skills/agility. Overcoming insane numbers of the things is the most fun, its just hilarious/panic inducing being chased by 15 human controlled zombies on ZP:S, even though they aren't moving very fast.

Having slower/weaker "zombies" gives the player more of a chance to pick different tactics and work around weaknesses, but clearly L4D isn't going for that angle, it's going for the all out fast and furious 'action', which is fair enough but I bet it will get old quick.

Which is where "The Director" comes in.

Google it my friend ;)

Hopefully there will be mod tools so we can make new maps, weapons, player models and Romero zombies.

Really hope so.

If anyones ever heard of "Severalls hospital," im going to make a map of that hopefully!

If not, again, google it. Zombie shooter in abandoned mental hospital F.T.W!

I did. Whats good about adaptive AI difficulty and numbers? Hardly revolutionary is it? :p

Hopefully yes! Giving the talented mod scenes the chance to create their own scenario's would be awesome and will add to the longevity, fo' sho.

Thats like saying the whole point of zombie movies is having them move slowly around which obviously isn't the case as a few have veered away from that style.

Theyre not Zombies.

And the director actually estimates how "scared" etc. the players are changes the game accordingly, meaning no 2 games will be the same, and when its too much, the game pace slows down, but will pick up again.

This is a really good oportunity for Valve to sort out some decent voice communication system to rival TS. The ability to join an online game and be put into a tidy little chat room with the other 3 players without having to rely on being Friends or having previously aranged on TS would be awesome. The Console versions will get it, as its part of Live etc... I just wish Steam would also do this...

Eh? What's wrong with the standard source codecs? As clear as most 3rd party programs...especially compared to the mediocre SQ of XBL voice comm. Every source game I play I use the in-game voice comm as do my friends, I only have teamspeak installed for other games.

Im not on about the codecs or the audio quality, Im on about the simplicity of playing XBL and just being able to talk to your team mates, no messing, no faffing, it just works. L4D would really benifit from this on PC.

I'm pretty sure this has been available for donkeys of years on source games. I admit it's not as good as the system used in BF2+ games but it's very simple and easy to use. Just have a mic installed and fiddle with the settings for a second, and press 'V' and talk or something like that.
