I cant recall really really speeding for any purpose recently... most i do would be about the 70 ish 
Not really in the mood at the moment for it to be honest... nothing better than curise control at 55-60 lol I think i aged 25 years over night a few months ago :| lol

Calling it a 'placebo fuel' is inacurate, it depends entirely on the car it's being used in.
Agreed.
Makes bugger all difference in the 325i, but put 95 ron in the LCR and you soon know about it.

It's a pet hate of mine too. Everybody seems to think that Mr Policeman is going to arrest everybody in every car in the immediate vecinity, irrespective of speed, simply because they pass said police car
I just maintain my speed at around 80 when passing police cars, whilst pretty much every car around me appears to be coming to a standstill.
Idiots.
Almost as irritating as when you get closer to the car in question and find that it's a couple of Highway's Agency traffic wombles pootling along looking for roads to close.
Most of the motorways I drive on (M3, M4, M25 and M40) the average speed in lane three is about 90mph. I tend to keep up with traffic when I'm driving.

but weight doesn't effect speed as much as shape
read the thread from start, I didn't see mention of time travel as a reason to go fast
plus everyone knows the car your talking about would fall apart at 65mph

Ugh, me too. If you're driving safely and doing less than about 90, they won't care. The annoying thing is where people in all three lanes slow down to 65
