Need a new Graphics Card

Hey i need a new graphics card but i got a philips case i heard you need some special graphics card because normal graphics card dont go into the case but i dont know where to look. Looking to spend around £80. anyone got any ideas?
 
phillips flatline paperweight maybe? sorry, only joking. you'll need to measure the space available in your case, most, if not all modern GFX cards are quite wide, and some can be quite long.

So what do you call them then ? thinking about phoning overclockers and ordering it from there over the phone

is the case a sff

ATX/mATX

if its a complete build post the model or a pic you took yourself so we can take a look at the actual case
chances are you would need a new power supply

if it is a half height bracket then you would need to look at this maybe

if it is full height i would go for the 8800gt on your budget
but if you have less than a 500W decent brand PSU
its got to be one of the new ATI 4670 cards as they draw power from the pci express slot and dont need a beefy power supply

what will the card be used for?
the 4670 has a pretty good review over at bit tech if you are running all but the most demanding games

may even get COD4 going well on it

what res will you be using?
 
exacts....google image it by using the model number or take a picture yourself please.

DONT get the 4670, just get the 3870. Its better and same price. But remeber, 3870's need a power cable directly from the power supply to the card. In which case the above post is right and you need to get a card which runs directly off the slot


I really need a pciture of your computer with the side off hehe

Yeah im starting to feel its like my old dell. Cheap as possible PSU and very thin case....worlds most anoying thing. Thankfully im off all that now running a slick machine which cost only £250 :)

EDIT: Looking at the google images its rally tough to call i cant make out if its thin or normal. HMM any chance of a pciture from you...and with the case side off.
 
Yes you will need a low profile card which limits your options.

Looks like the PSUs in those are usually 600+watt but they are generic makes and seem to have a reputation for blowing if you push them hard.

I reckon its a low profile jobbie too. In which case you need to search for a 'low profile x1650' as thats the best card i could find when i was on my graphics searh.

What you linked is also good. id say just get that. If you are capable of changing case then i can help and you can get a much better card as you arent limited to low profile ones.
