Well I know that NEC released a 24" IPS monitor in North America (the 2490 as opposed to 2470 which is available on here - little brother of the 26" IPS) with no plans to market in the UK. Maybe they're keeping all their IPS panels for the MDView range of medical monitors (there's a 24" IPS panel monitor....but I suspect not built for high speed gaming. And probably horrendously expensive)
I'd still like to know what this MVA one is like though, for the price it needs to be some sort of godlike monitor. I'm thinking that the HP is looking like the best 24" at the moment, good review over at tftcentral.co.uk - shame about the stand.
I wonder if anyone's going to take a plunge on one of these NECs - they may be in stock here but there's barely any word of them if you google, and NO reviews anywhere. Dropping £600 on a monitor that's got no reviews sounds like a risky move...

There's very little word about them on the interweb, and I'm awaiting a review...maybe OCuk could lend one to tftcentral for an in depth. I know I'll probably never go over 24" on a pc monitor (I have designs on a 40" flatscreen TV, for big viewing!) so the next monitor I get will likely be my companion for a long time, so I've no objection to paying over the odds..IF the hardware deserves the expenditure. As yet, I've seen no indication of the performance of these screens
