Critique my car ad ( and other selling questions )

That dealer got back to me and said

"we will put it up for 12-12.5 so it should return 11k to you, it should sell at that price"

I was just shocked, he obviously thought that he would price it so low that it would sell immediately and he would make a quick grand

Shocked would be an understatement!

That is a lot of car for the money. I guess this "credit crunch" is hitting the car market a lot worse than many people thought.

Is this not even on autotrader yet rotty? Pistonheads has quite a small audience in comparison...

i was more criticising the company's sales technique

bragging about having an internet advert on site with lots of hit. I was commenting that it was nothing special, considering autotrader probably gets far more hits, and they probably stick in autotrader anyway, but for the convenience of them doing it and keeping it on their land, they get a tidy 4 figure profit.

I'm already below my "bottom line" had a couple of calls but nothing more :(

reduced it to 13,990 now :(

It's a buyers market, hate to say it but, you'll be lucky to get that in the current economic state the world is in. I swear someone on here just picked up a 45kish mile re engined M3 for £11k.

that sucks really does, im considering selling my TT soon, i bought it march or so this year and got it at around book, id be lucky if i sold it 1k under book now it makes me think is it worth selling, what will i get for less than new fiesta money lol!

It wont help either the new tax rules! DAMN government

which is where the problem is, its what people think its going to cost to run, driven sensibly they will get i think (asking OP) around 20mpg around the doors but as much as 35 at legal limits on a run, the problem is you are constantly tempted to put your foot down, yes servicing is expensive (well at main dealers) theres a good independent BMW specialist to me and ive asked him a few times what the standard servicing is on M series, starts from 120 ish for an oil change, christ i paid that for my wifes tdi golf oil change at VW!!!!! i really want a M3 E46 and would love to offer Rotty a deal but its not the right time for me as its not for others, they are fantastic cars and I hope you manage to sell it soon

@ Rotty not sure how long you've been trying to sell now but i used to have a fully specced 330ci it took me about 2 months to sell that so dont give up ;)
