i've built my first pc pics included

yes i managed to move the card up to the 16x slot and fan was well clear so that was a bonus also i had to move hardrive down a slot as the wiring was in way.but all good just got to work out how to overclock it and buy some games lol.

the first picutres great,it's the bit i like best when building a new PC. seeing all your hardware still boxed, then hoping it all works when it's put together.
nice build there, WD.

Looks nice :)

Ive built 3 pcs so far

The first PC I made I forgot to plug that damn 4 pin atx mobo cable in lol. Then I forgot to plug the 24 pin mobo cable in properly.

When it had finally booted up I realsied my DDR modules were in the wrong ddr slots so my memory was under performing lol

I recently made my 3rd pc up about 2 months ago all is going fine but I keep cutting myself on the alluminum edges :( there pretty bad cuts to lol. Bit anoying tbh when none of the edges are meant to be sharp based on the descrition

hi all thought i would come back to this tread and say,how things are going.
so far all is running well had to replace the dvd drive, and redo the paste as was getting 90c at full load:eek: but redoing the paste and heatsink sorted that out and now sits at around the 50c mark give or take a degree,at full load(thanks setter for that advice:))

my mission hopefully is to get to 3.4ghz,so at 3.2 so far and no problems:D

so in all i think im doing quite well for someone who never built a pc before lol any suggestions plz feel free to add them below

If your cpu speed is 3200 (3.2 ghz) i would lower the cpu multiplier to 8 and up the fsb to 400, then just change the memory divider so its as close to 1066 without going over, but make sure your giving your ram and cpu the correct voltages.

my cpu is at 1.3 as my vid is 1.3 is that right and i left ram on auto i hada look on ram stick and states its 2.1v so do i take auto off and type in the 2.1v,also how do i change the multiplier and hows it typed out, sorry im still learning this bit?

ok i followed the above that takes me to 3.6ghz which would be nice whether it would hold in prime i give it a bash anyway lol
im a bit confused over the ram settings, 801mhz,961mhz,1280mhz which one do i go choose:confused:

The above settings should give you 3.2 not 3.6 for 3.2 you would need to increase your cpu voltage to around 1.4v possibly slightly higher.

Not sure about your board but on mine you can adjust the "fsb strap to northbridge" this gives me different memory dividers "dram frequency" the 801mhz,961mhz,1280mhz settings, to run your ram at its full speed you need to get this as close to the 1066 setting as possible.

Try changing the fsb strap to northbridge setting from 333 to 400 or vice versa and see what dividers it gives you.

Also running it at 801 will be fine if you dont want the hassle, but just make sure you set the ram voltage to the 2.1v and dont leave it on auto or you might find it wont post.

That looks better - dont worry about what windows says as it dont realise you have lowered the multi to 8x, but your cpu voltage still looks low for a q6600 @ 3.2.

i have change it from 333 to 400 and has given me 1066ghz option what you want me to do now, i put 1.3v for cpu as my vid is 1.3 when i first started o/c should i increase it if so what should i type in??
