Ive just bought 2 "Icy Box External Enclosure IB-390StUSD-B 3.5" eSATA + USB 2.0 Combo & Docking Station" and Im going to be putting 1tb drives or larger in them. But the thing is I cant afford the drives yet, so I cant send the icyboxes back if they dont detect the drives.. so what are my chances guys that they will be fine with the drives? on the icybox website it says "Without capacity limit". But who puts a 1tb drive or bigger in a external??

will be fine

i think only the IDE enclosures seemed to have problems with larger drives, and the icyboxes didn't have this problem iirc

i've used my 390 with both my 1tb drives, no problems

Well if I can get £70 from my 2gb cosair 3500ll pro mem, I might be able to get 1 1tb drive sooner then planed. But I doubt I will get that much some how.

does your drive in your 390 go to sleep at all, cos I wouldn't mind being able to leave mine on 24/7???

I recieved the 2 "Icy Box External Enclosure IB-390StUSD-B 3.5" eSATA + USB 2.0 Combo & Docking Station" and I decided to try the internal setup, so I just spent a good few hrs installing it and kept tidying as I installed it and here the result....
