The main part of the client software for Nvidia cards has been updated to ver1.15

To get this new version wait until a WU has finished, stop the client software and rename fah_core_11.exe to fah_core_11.exe.old. Then when you restart the software it won't find the core and will download the new one.

I've done a few WUs with the new core on both my cards and the ppd is either similar to the old core or higher. On project 5506 it's 450ppd higher on my 8800GT so well worth the update. Due to the increased throughput your card might get a bit hotter so if your close to the edge of stability you might need to clock the shaders down a touch or increase the fan speed.

I got the info from here : http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=6203

...and also another thread about an update to core 1.13

Happy folding team 10 :)

Is there a way to check which core the client is using? I renamed the old core and each client downloaded a new one, but so far there has been no changes (maybe a good thing!).

Check in the logfile (or in FahMon) and the version of the core is displayed there...

Cheers Rich - completely missed that (despite scanning and looking for it!). It seems as though they have updated. Hopefully will see some gains soon!

No worries - you may have already had the v1.13 core which already had the speed increase if you don't notice anything. Mine has gone from 4822PPD to 5184PPD on the same WU and should go higher once I leave the PC to its own devices (and close firefox :p)

I think i was still stuck on the 1.09 core - havent touched it in a while, and have been stuck att he same od speeds. Thanks again for the pointer - hopefully it will settle down a bit and give me some nice scores.

Cheers for the heads up, gtx's are pulling around 5200 each right now, would be interesting to see what they go up to when I get home at the weekend.

1.16 is out now!

Nvidia v1.16 10/16/08 Core_13: includes mods to integrator to enhance numerical stability

Also if you are having any stability problems make sure you have the latest CUDA drivers, apparently they are a common cause of crashes

I have actually been getting some EUEs wth the newer core (didnt notice until i began to get some strange partial credits...) on a non-overclocked card - i have tried to get the 1.16 core by renaming the old one, but have had no luck (the fah lof still indicates 1.15 core). Has anyone managed to download it?

Check you are renaming the right one. Rename the one in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu

Hmm.. think you are right I'm only getting 1.15 too
