Ah, i'd heard nothing about this. Loved the last series and was expecting the new one over the summer. Glad to hear its finally arrived!

Decent first episode but a couple of them seem a bit girly and I didn't like the fact they wore protection and weren't allowed head shots. Hope it's not going to be soft this year.

Just watched it on the old iplayer. Anyone else feel the critisism of Wole was a tiny bit unjust, I mean, the kid ducked into that headshot. Seems to me theres some tension building over a clear incident really.

Looked the same way to me. His habit of ducking was referred to earlier.

I hope there isn't going to be a lot of serious internal conflict between the contestants. They avoided that in the first series, which was one of the good points. It wasn't just a series of contests.

The scarification looked like it would hurt. But hey, they wiped the blood off with a razor blade, how nice.

It doesn't really hurt as such...Just a prolonged burning sensation....Like a chinese burn.

One point...I was cooking when the program started so I may have misheard but I'm sure the narrator said something along the lines of 'these are the first westeners to do this...'

...What about when they did THE EXACT SAME THING last year?!

Last year was stick fighting with Zulus. This was the Suri, not Zulus, and a different form of fighting.

I get the impression that many of the Suri were far from happy at the foreigners being there and the chief was concerned that it would reflect badly on his village if any of the foreigners were badly hurt or killed, especially by a Suri. The Suri, apparently, are having a lot of trouble from the government and the death of a foreigner would surely get them a lot more.
