Do you think you have someone elses dream job?

My dream job would be something along the lines of being the director of an advertising agency or an executive film producer.

Anyone here one of those? :D

^ I wish.

I used to work in a furniture shop...on the weekdays, I sometimes sold nothing at all and had about 3 customers. There was nothing to do except read. My flatmate decreed this as his ideal job, but I was SO BORED.

I know someone who is a producer of adverts at the moment. Films may well be his next step.

He really enjoys his work and he produces some amazing stuff. The only downside is that he has a young family and he spends a lot of time away from them.

I think I have a job that could be described as someones dream job.

I work at Millbrook Proving Ground in the Safety department.
I can spend my days doing anything from setting up and running full scale crash tests, to working on the HyGE sled, to (my personal favourite) airbag sensor immunity testing.

I have had the chance to drive all sorts of fantastic vehicles, as well as the most mundane, every day is different, and I never know quite what to expect when arriving at work.

There hasn't been one male who hasn't raised their eyebrows when I tell them I teach 14 to 16 year old girls and call me a lucky git.
The reality is that they are a reet pain in the ass.

I know the feelling, In my spare time I help out by coaching an under 21 female water polo team, and also help out at the local swim club. Working around loads of young women in swimwear, is not all that it's cracked up to be, I can assure you. You have to be so carefull of what you say and how you act, it is so much harder work than my day job.

When I grow up I want to be a cinematographer, failing that some kind of well respected documentary photographer. At the moment I do not have anyones dream job.

Today I woke at 6, went for an hours walk, had a shower, breakfast and a massive cuppa, watched some telly, I just got on the bus and i'll be at work at 10 (20 minute bus journey, 15 minute walk). I'm showing my boss the spreadsheets I did yesterday for the stocktake (It's a 300Kb *.xls...No charts...Just a basic table. Christ, we do a lot of lines...), sorting out a product I'D system for the new designs we're doing, answering emails, dispatching stock, making a few phone calls, drinking tea and doing some photography...

Finish at around 5:30ish, getting a lift home then chillaxing.

[Edit: will have to take some accessories from unit to shop - we're running a bit low]

May I ask why you went for an hours walk when you woke up?

Strange you should ask that, I was just wondering why I didn't go for an hours walk when I got up. I like the idea of that :)

I honestly cannot think of anything worse.

Yes, I probably would enjoy the fresh air to wake me up. But I value my sleep way too much to justify getting up an hour earlier just to go for a walk :)

If I had a dog I might. But I don't particularly like dogs.

I wake up at around 6am every day. I don't start work until 10am mon + wed, 2pm thurs + fri, 9am sat and 11am sun...So even on a saturday, I have three hours to kill.

As the weather gets colder, I like to walk more. Jeans, a light jacket, beanie and headphones...It clears the head, and gives you some exercise and thinking time.

Fair enough. Good on you for getting out there, and especially for getting up so early when starting work late. I wish I could do that. Annoyingly, I only seem to be able to get up early on the weekend.

My idea of hell :) Glad you like it tho. Also Nickthenorse, what are you looking at going into after F1? I really didn't want to do anything aerospace based after my degree :)

I don't have any control over it...My body wakes up and I have to get up.

Hmm I guess some days it would be a dream job, some not.

Today I woke up at 9, got to the office around 10:45 and really don't have a great deal to do today !

Just answer e-mails/phone calls as they come in and fiddling around on a spreadsheet to try and get a new idea I have working (not going too well!)

I'll probably leave at 5:30 - 6:00

Not unless the other person is someone of little imagination.

My job is only to get cash together for a masters degree and have some money in my pocket - it will never turn into a career.

My ideal job would involve history and photography.... driving around too, love to travel.

not much traveling in 3rd line support though, apart from around Leeds lol...

Gay pornstar?

I'm not sure if I should be flattered by your interest or worried but I'm afraid you'll have to look elsewhere for new material to add to your collection. ;)

I'm just an office temp at the moment so for a lot of the time I'm doing work that is not taxing in the least. Having nothing to do is not all it is cracked up to be.
