TGS: Metal Gear Solid 4 may well be on 360 after all..

I would still prefer it on blueray, disc swapping is a thing of the past for me.

A disc swap is much, much quicker. Until the issue with slow BR which has plagued the PS3's life so far is sorted then BR won't be the right format for gaming. I did say this before the PS3 was released and it's come to fruition.

There is no way 8 minute installs followed by more than 10 minutes of further installs during a game is 'the future', which it would have to be to consider the alternative 'the past'.

You do have to swap the disks WatchTower, as MS have said that you need to have the disk in the drive to play installed games, so on multi disc games it will be the same.

It could just do a check for disc 1, no need to swap discs at all.

Even so, disc swapping would still be quicker than waiting for the install.

Its only MGS4 thats like this tho tbh and I reckon its due mainly to the film length cutscenes. Id much prefer to have installs than disc swapping imo and not just for the physical changing disc aspects but because it reduces loading times and also the disc drive doesnt sound like a hoover as its retracting so much data on the fly.

Damn, if that's true then I cant' wait! :D I came so close to getting a PS3 for this, but if it comes out on the 360... Then by Joe, that'll be awesome. :D

Multiplatform = more money for developers

This potentially will result in better games in the future, i don't see how it could have a negative effect. Great game imo, possibly the best of this current generation, the more that get the chance to experience it the better.

I still prefer no disc swap i do not care about how long a load time is i would rather put up with that than a disc swap,my personal preference.

I can see it now - Xbox blu-ray adapter and MGS4 in simultaneous release. ;) :p

In seriousness, if it comes it'll be whenever they do the re-release of mgs4. Hopefully they'll take the opportunity to change MGS online while their at it and drop the terrible Konami online system.

Anyone who works on a 'masterpiece' wants it to be seen and valued by as many people as possible. It was also stated that MGS4 would be exclusive to PS3, but they never commented on the re-release - a crafty piece of advertising and something that they have done in the past.

Following Kojima for years, one can safely deduce that he would not 'hack' his masterpiece into pieces.

In other words, being a perfectionist that he is, he would never allow himself to see his game demented and degraded to xbox.. i mean.. DVD level ever, even if it meant that millions more would get to play.

Yeah and the worst thing about it is.. .imagine yourself stuck between two discs, where you would spawn in one disc and you play a bit and swap the disc and you die after... and the checkpoint is way back in the "previous disc"

it would suck!

edit: wow can't use 'misspelled' the... it censors out...

That wouldn't happen though, you just seem to be spouting nonsense.

Something like this will push ps3 sales further down, eliminating competition in the market. 360 will then achieve dominance, they can set pricing strategies and generally screw the consumer over (something that is seen by EA's publishing dominance on PC Games at the minute). I know this is a fairly extreme example but in order to keep competition at a max, consoles need to have a select few stand-out games available only to that console.

How can the 360 be dominant? Have people forgot about the Wii?:)
MGS4 for the Wii!! Makes far more sense;)
