My new weight-loss diary. (Now with pics!)

Yeah mine hurts if I just walk around for too long. Still started the diet today, going to the gym in an hour or so, I'll mostly stick to weights and go easy on the legs. For now only really looking to get into the routine of going to the gym and sticking to a diet.

Gluck with that mate. Best advice i can give about the gym is go with someone u know. I truely think i would have given up by now if it wasnt for my sister coming along with me to the gym as a gym partner. She wanted to go anyhow for awhile but still its good to have that support.

Also about eating. Just do things like pasta more and get more fish in the diet and less steak and sausage and bacon and dont get bread. My main diet has been mostly boiled potato, and other veg, with tins of tuna chunks and the occasional batter cod by Youngs. I drink just water these days with the odd cup of camomile tea. Im missing food like steak sausage, bacon, noodles, pizza and kababs but tbh i didnt eat loads of them things to start with but even tho im missing them its doing the world of good for me. Biggest thing about healthy diets are normal portions of food so no more filling up big plates instead do half a plate and just have the one larger meal like a main dinner for about evening time.

8kg in a month? what are you doing, same as DG?

No just the gym 3 times a week, eating healthy food not a diet so to speak just dont buy high calorie foods and no big meals, but mainly i just drink water and camomile tea occasionally and eat things like i said in previous post etc etc.

Sounds rather fishy to me.... loosing that amount of weight so soon probably isn't healthy.. but if your doc's given you the all clear..... :/

IMO starving yourself and eating these 'packs' will get you loosing weight fast.. but as previous posters have said... if the counselling doesn't work, you'll gain it all just as quickly.

You'll need to change your whole lifestyle... the way you think about food... exercise blah blah blah im sure you've heard it all before

people are forgetting he won't be shifting from a 500 calorie diet back up to normal. He's eating 500 calories of external food, but his body will be eating a LOT of calories, literally eating the body fat. call it 2 stone in a month, 28lbs = 28x3500 calories(1lbs fat =3500 calories roughly speaking). thats 9800 calories, or infact, just call the month 28 days for simplicity and you're talking about your body eating 3500 calories of fat a day.

In reality its not quite that high, but you'll be surprised. Just like when you eat more food, you'll put on weight but your body WILL adjust its metabolism to compensate. So this diet is essentially shifting the body to getting its main food sourse from body fat, and once its in body fat mode it just keeps on eating an endless supply of body fat.

The danger comes in changing food source and using a different process to get energy. IE high carb diet will be incredibly dangerous, building up calories mostly from high quality fats in the diet would be pretty safe.

Obviously theres other things to take into account in the math, some/quite a lot will be muscle being lost, lots will be water weight aswell. Infact carbs take in so much water weight with them, that the figure could be low as 1/2 of that, but even so thats still 1500 or more calories the body is still adding to the 500 calorie food pack.

Good luck with it all mate, my dad is about to come off it at the end of this week and he looks so much better than he did a few months ago. Keep at it and as many have said, a lot of the work comes after the weight loss. However, it sounds like you're prepaired for that.

Ok ok!

Well I can't get my scanner running yet so these aren't 'official' pictures, but I've just taken a quick headshot to compare to a pic from facebook from a few weeks back.

Sorry I look so miserable! :p

Can you see a difference?? (actually just realised that first pick is probably about 8 weeks ago, but you get the idea!)
