8.10 hotfix for farcry 2

The driver versions are the same, just the driver package and CC are newer in Vista???

These are 8.541.2.0, what is the 8.10 standard?

8.10 are 8.541.0.0000

Seems the hotfix is the same as the 8.11 Beta thats floating around, although the catalyst control center is the same.
(The ATI installer detects the driver as the same one as the 8.11 beta, but the CCC to be out of date)

8.11 beta are 8.542.0.0, the 8.10 hoxfix are 8.541.2.0

Do you guys just run this over your current drivers, or do you remove current drivers first, then install these?

Lately I have just installed over old drivers with newer ones, Seems fine to me, and I don't need to restart. I have not really seen it make any difference to uninstall, and install method.

I just installed right over my current drivers.

i do that with every new ati driver. doesnt hurt me

Uhmm, the hotfix may have just been completed. The WHQL process takes 1-2 weeks I believe, so we would have been waiting a further 2-3 weeks for the fixes 8.10 brought.

So no thanks, I don't know if I could stand another 2-3 weeks of the Nvidia kiddies telling everyone their drivers were always perfect and they wished they'd never gone ATI......

Yeah the ATI install manager sorts out all the removing and adding of the new drivers in one step.

I firmly believe all this driver sweeping people do causes the problems that people report with install failures etc.

I've never had an issue letting the install manager do its stuff.

Will be interested to see how much difference the DX10.1 magicalness makes over equiv Nvidia cards. Wonder how long it'll be before Farcry 2 is "patched" to stop the glitchy DX10.1 ways...

If its another the way its meant to be played game then ati gonna need all the advantage dx10.1 brings to keep up with the nv cards i think. I think it will be interesting to see how crossfire scales in this game also.
