you have to download the pictures then upload to your own webspace before you can link them here. Otherwise someone could change cheezeburger.com/lolcat.jpg to a chuffing great vagina, or something, and you'd be none the wiser.

Pretty sure it's more to do with leeching other people's bandwidth

Oh I see, I was looking in the FAQ to find out what it meant but there was no mention of it that I could see. Perhaps an addition could be made.

They're a lot of work, unpaid work, give them a break. You have to assume a hotlinked image is something horrible because there's a chance the owner will get annoyed and change the picture it links to.

Could you imagine going through the GF thread every day checking none of the pictures have changed?? (okay, maybe some of your do, but that's none of my business

).
