FARCRY 2 --- Officially , official of official threads! ---

Far too much driving as well, its take out camp drive along take out another camp drive along take out enemy vehicle. .

Is it not possible to walk? I mean, I know that it's probably quite far but there may be the ability to pick up some quests on the way. I haven't played yet and won't be until Saturday night. The spawning thing DOES concern me however. But I'm quite confident that these things will be sorted in a patch or, failing that, the modding community will make the game into what it should be.
Some people have been slating inaccuracies of weapons. I like weapons to be slightly inaccurate as it makes it more realistic. Recoil and wind direction and strength should be considered. Let's leave the auto-aim for the console boys to play after their vodka red bull and burgers. :)

I am very much enjoying it, except the fact that it crashes my system endlessly. Been stable at the exact specs I have now since new year, now i get lockups all the time with this :(.

Well, this game is a computer killer lol.

ever since i installed, it has killed my mobo, ram AND both my gfx cards lol.... dont know how, but i have just tested as other games are getting artifacts and crashes....

Ive just requested RMA's for all 4 bits of hardware, my system was 100% stable before (i know this because i ran all sorts of tests just a week before installing it lol)

So, this game is getting uninstalled, email being sent to ubi hopeing they have something nice to say about the matter... i am beyond pi**ed off right now...

I think most people will agree that the drive a bit, kill the outpost, drive a bit, kill the outpost does get very annoying quickly.

At the moment there doesnt seem to be much else to it.

You've forgotten... collecting diamonds and tapedecks :/

Im really bored with this game :(

dont think its great by any means. The graphics arent great and i just cant get use to it. It seems the only good FPS games i can aim with is CS and source games :p

Well last night I decied **** the missions and went for a drive. Ended up getting in a boat and going sailing for a bit found a few safe houses.

Killed a few dudes then found a railway track so followed that around the outside of the map. Came to a lot of abandoned railway stations found some new weapons, a sand dune buggy, lots of safe houses and got chased a lot.

All in all quite enjoyed do nothing in the game, then I went back to doing the missions and within 5 mins I was totally bored....

buses are the quickest, and then boats, then cars then walking.

I find the game a lot more fun, trying to sneak in un-noticed, or by killing as few as possible. using the silenced pistol (not got anything better yet) i can take out an enemy without attracting any unwanted attention, unless a patrol see's it.

One thing that would be good is the ability to pickup and move bodies, would make the stealth element more fun.

A lot of people have been complaining that when they try a stealth kill, all NPC's in the area are magically aware that someone has been killed?

Do stealth kills work for you when you use the machete?

One problem I have with buses being the quickest - the NPC's at guard posts attack for no reason every time you go near them apparently. Surely if one were to travel by bus, the guards at check points would "check" passengers on buses from time to time?

They only seem to be magically aware if the dude you're killing sees you before he dies, he doesn't need to make a sound or anything, just the actually act of seeing you sets the AI into motion. Silenced pistols from behind obviously will yeild a stealth kill, but getting someone with the machete without them becoming aware of your presence is near impossible imo.

how the **** do i get rid of my malaria?

im about to throw it in the bin!

You need to do the first two or three missions until you see the priest. He gives you some medicine to fix the worst of it. tbh it doesn't affect me at all, it just means stamina is a bit low.

The game isn't perfect but we all over hyped it. It's good for what it is, a pretty free roaming shooter with a storyline you can follow if you want.

Anyone that says graphics are crap really need to look at how they judge that. "OMG I went up to an inch of a leaf and it had pixellated edges!!!"

It looks good as I play it, I don't go sticking my face into rocks looking for the slightest texture blur while I play so the *slightly* less detailed textures then in Crysis really don't bother me. I actually prefer the look of FC2, lighting and shadows seem much better imo.

I have managed to make 2 stealth kills with the machete so far, difficult it was indeed, and both were done at midnight at the fort. You have a point about the buses. Does anyone know if fc2 is going to be as moddable as the first? As some very simple mods could make the game a whole lot more entertaining.

You dont get *rid* of it, you only stave it off with medication. You get that from underground missions, starting with the church in the centre of pala.
