Can you guys please keep your Crysis pictures in the PC section - doesn’t really belong here now, seen as you have proved that a high end PC can render a better image than a 360 or PS3 :rolleyes:

I’ve just finished a bit of a sesh on the PS3 version and I’m loving it – think I’m only at 4% completion; been carrying out the weapon dealer’s missions mainly and exploring for diamonds :D

Not suffered any motion sickness as someone mentioned above, and the image crop that was found is hardly noticeable, at least to me – I was too busy playing the game.

Love the visuals, the sound and the gun play, but as jonarob said, the missions are a bit repetitive.

I’d give it an 8/10 so far.

I started off not liking this, I was playing on Infamous setting. All enemies had x ray vision and shotgun capable of hitting a 5p piece thirty miles away.

Turned difficulty down to hardcore and it is much more enjoyable now, if a little repetitive. Travelling gets a bit boring too.
 
Visually this game is astonishing, I defy any Xbox 360 player not to draw the occasional gasp of amazement at the scenery, I'm 24 hours into this game and absolutely having a ball of a time, I'm desperate to get a decent weapon rather than the jam-prone rusty assault rifles I keep picking up so I reckon I've accrued enough diamonds for a nice little pea-shooter back at the weapons shop, i've just got to safely get there now.

for those tired of driving, try taking the boat :)

God some people are silly.

The PC version of Far Cry 2 still looks crap compared to Crysis, if you are talking about the console version then I find your quote even more laughable. :D

(BTW - I didn't particularly like Crysis at all, aside from the epic visuals)

Hey don't worry the enemies have these super human abilities on Normal too lol, Bit lame the A.I

Well you did say "IMHO", but neither are rubbish, the game is very likable if you enjoy FPS games and a free-roaming world though.

Don't avoid this game peeps, it's worth the £40 most places are charging, for sure.

guys, stop comparing it to crysis - i have FC2 on the pc, but have tried the console version too and its not too dissimilar

i personally think its the most fun game i have played since bioshock

it just gives you a lot to do - or you can just do as you please - which is a bonus over bioshocks restrictiveness

i like how you feel everything is against you, NPC's the environment etc

[was half expecting to emerge from a river yesterday, covered in leeches]

i have played about 3 hours of missions and spent all sunday playing it as sandbox, kind of like a "First Person - Grand Theft Auto: Africa"

i think FarCry2 excels at being what it is
a fun game that you can play how you want

for pc gamers it gives the advantage of not needing a killer rig to get it running at playable settings

and for the record - i thought crysis was cool for 20 minutes
and crysis warhead is marginally less naff than the first

even if you just get farcry to have a go at - its going to provide you with some instances where you will go

"WOW thats cool!"
which just didnt happen in either crysis title
i think im just board of superl33t marines with armour and guns with loads of ammo

i prefer farcry because you are an average joe - with a rusty AK and a crap tattoo :)

and the fc2 / crysis comparison shot at the top is like picking the worst looking shot on fc2 compared to crysis' best

where each shot quite clearly has a gun on it so they are similar enough for comparison
 
People seem to be overlooking two things:

1: I posted comparisons because someone claimed they looked '85-90% similar', my images were simply to show why i believe he was wrong (i also used PC screenshots, not console ones so the people saying 'oh yeah well done, 8800GTX outdoes 360 shocker' aren't really making a relevant comment as they're both created using the same hardware). I'm not brigning crysis shots onto the console forum to show how much better a PC is, i'm simply trying to use evidence to prove my point.

2: Around 5 posts after the head shots one that some people decided was an unfair comparison i posted many more fullscreen screenshots comparing crysis and farcry 2 to make it 'fairer'.

I'm not saying farcry 2 looks bad, i'm not saying 'I'm right and you're wrong!', i've simply tried to provide evidence showing why I feel Farcry2 doesn't look anywhere near as good as Crysis on any platform in any way contrary to some peoples beliefs.

Far Cry 2 for the PS3 now available for £17.99. It's from a popular online store so you should'nt have too much problem finding it.
 
It's not a bad game at all really, great graphics and sniping people is quality.

The constant driving into road blocks where their jeeps are always twice the speed of yours could get annoying in the long run.

I got mine for £17.99, worth that for sure.
