Just this minute finished it on hard, think my time clocks in around 11 hours. Impossible mode unlocked now, urgh.

Just starting chapter 10 and I have an almost fully upgraded plasma cutter and rig and I've used a couple of nodes on my line gun too.

rgr, i'll try that - sure i died behind one of em. Which gun did you find the *least* useful? So far for me its the flamethrower.

atm im sticking to plasma cutter (tons of ammo given for this) line cutter and the Ripper (coz i love ripping em up with the blades)

But ive received the schematics for force gun and beam gun? ( i think)

Ive died a few times too (medium) mainly because i panic and forget to use stasis so i can methodically chop em up

After ive completed it i might have a quick look at a guide to see what i missed for the 2nd run through.

Plasma Cutter is the best gun in the game, I stuck with that and Line Gun, the flamethrower I found terrible.

flamethrower is pretty good for the little face hunger type bugs

Yeah it is good for those but I'd rather not carry it and get more ammo for my main weapons.

If/when I play through again on impossible I'll only be using the plasma cutter through the whole game.

this game is great, a obvious mix of aliens and 'the thing'. the dev's said that they watched a load of sci fi films for inspiration for the surprise jump moments with the beasts. Maybe thats why they are so predictable , we have seen them all before.

still a great game, i am on ch3 and i hope to get more vacuum areas to go in were you see the scale of the planet.

MeHuk not heard any screams, but some funny smells about......could be me, but i blame the dog! although he does move from the room when i start playing.

I find the flamethrower useless aswell and like most people i am keeping the ripper, cutter and line as my main weapons.

Halfway through ch 6 i think, the one with the air filtration...

Here is a question, i know that there are better ways of killing each type of beastie, but what the best way to kill the black tall ones? if you know what i mean?

I'm back.

I received Dead Space on thursday morning from boomerang and finished it at 7pm friday. I just could not put it down! Playing this game on a big screen with 5.1 just adds to the immersion, truly an astounding gaming experience like no other! I've never been so immersed in a game like this before. The no hud really does add a lot to the game.

Enough praise, on to the things that kinda annoyed me. The map was kind hard to view at times and there could have been more different looking enemies. Also, the story was abit too cliche. Apart from those things, this is one polished game.

I really hope the do Dead Space 2, knowing EA, you can count on there being a sequel! I want more!

Off to watch the movie now.

Legs then arms, that's what I do for most beasties. They're the same as the normal ones just faster and tougher.

or you can use that power to slow them down, i usually throw gas canisters at them

Mainly to knock beasties back off you or if you have no ammo

9ft screen, total darkness, surround sound and a cat leaping on you during a 'quiet' moment. :eek:

Loving it so far. The sounds you get when in a vacum and get attacked

This is the best game on the system since CoD4 in my opinion. Was up LATE last night playing - just couldn't put it down. Such a quality game.

Nothing wrong with the asteroid bit: adds a bit of variation.
