Rather be - Blind or deaf?

I think I would be deaf. There are loads of ways of comunicating other than sound.

Being deaf is limiting but not half as much as being blind.

Hmm tough choice...
See, I love music too much to go deaf, but I rekon I could still play guitar while blind  Probably still be deaf though, eyesight is just so important.

As for dominant limb, would most definately be leg, you do SO much stuff with your arms, we probably take in for granted, and if you lost one of them, you would realise how difficult it would become. Mind you, losing a leg would be just as hard, but I'd just prefer to, that way I can still also play guitar :p

I would quite simply end my own life if I was blind AND deaf.. You simply wouldn't be able to do anything yourself. Blind people kind of navigate around by tapping things with their stick and other general sounds..

You would need someone caring for you 100% and to me that isn't a life.

On the other question.. I'd prefer to lose a leg, because having two arms is more important to me. I don't really do any sports or athletic things.

If you were blind wouldn't killing yourself be much more difficult?

I suppose it would depend on the way you chose to do it, certain methods would work about as well regardless. Procuring the necessary items might be more difficult if blind but not impossibly so.

I'd rather lose neither, if I had to lose a sense then being anosmic is about as minimal an interference as it gets I think. Still not nice but my dad has never had a sense of smell and it doesn't appear to affect him too badly.

so you wouldnt be able to watch tv, drive, see the sun set, see the stars, you can still converse with people when your deaf.. no sex..
TV is crap, driving isn't really everything, sun set and stars are nice but nothing compared to music, blind people can't have sex?

I'd much rather be deaf, I couldn't do my job if I were blind, but deafness wouldn't hold me back. There's always guide dogs - those little guys are miracle workers!!

I couldn't imagine not being able to see mile upon mile of green fields, the ocean, bright blue skies...
