*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

Must be a bug then, because it seems mad to get penalised for being lower level, surely the opposite should apply. It's all T3 scenario's too, so like say i have 75k heals, 10k damage, 1 DB,etc. Another guy, high 20's, has say 40k heals, 8k damage, no DB's. His xp is double.

You will probably find though that the XP he gets, while double yours, has less impact as he is much higher level. In percentage of level terms, you probably get more.

Ahh, that's an interesting perspective on it.

However, as i get higher level, my XP gains should increase in theory. for example 12k xp i could get at T2 is a much higher percentage than the 5k xp i get in T3 for a lot more work.

Unless it's all scaled by percentage, but that would contradict the ability to get the same xp across all tiers and also, the ability for some people to get 25k xp. So most people have been seeing a marked increae per tier, mine is a decrease. Hmm, i think it's a bug actually, as i was also with a same level healer, who i again out healed and damaged, etc, who dominated my xp.

Think there's a link like mentioned above, to who you heal and how...

Wasn't there a recent change in that if you heal the DPS guys, then you get more XP?

Well, healing Bright-Wizards is unavoidable either way, you gotta permanently heal them, so shouldn't make much difference. I'll do some tests tonight.

As they have made open war double the xp, guess a flaw could be have two accounts, get together and kill each other until you level. Or just me thinking like that lol...

Then again thinking about it, be a long run to meet up again i guess...

Are none of you guys getting tired of this game yet? I'm still playing, but finding it more and more tedious every time I log on.

My server seems to be getting quieter by the day and all I do now is just join scenarios the whole time I'm on.

I very rarely see any open RvR which is what this game is meant to be all about.

And to top it all off the game doesn't seem to run all that great on my system.

Doesn't run great on mine at high settings either, and tbh, that means it stutters on 90% on systems lol.

Yeh, can't do PQ's, can't solo quests, scenario's getting annoying, less and less people online. Will be tough going soon.

I find the game fun, but i only really play friday night, saturday. I no longer go hell for leather trying to lvl asap. Take my time and explore places, try new things, hell, try all the chars too.

Open PvP happens a lot on our server, a lot of the times its near the keeps and other times when we meet up at a crossroads and just go for it.

Maybe your on a low pop server?

No I'm on Eltharion which is quite a busy server. It's just there's no open RvR so everyones in Scenarios.

The bad performance is one of it's biggest downfalls though. It has my CPU constantly working at 90% and in RvR goes up to 100% and just turns into a slideshow.

The whole game is failing in my eyes and I think that the people who say differently are just people who are annoyed that the game is failing cos they really wanted it to work, like I did.

The only issue i have so far with the game is the fact it takes about 2-3 mins for it to shut down to desktop when i exit the game, yet in the middle of a PvP it can CTD in less than 5 secs!

Other than that, im enjoying it a lot with the different things to do and try out. I even found most of the unlocks in the 1st human area too :)

Trying the SM is good fun, the BW is great but dies a lot and the guild im in help a lot with quests and items. a lot of us are just finding our feet so in a month or two, you should see improvments in the PvP.

PvP is fun, ok, i agree 70% is in the BG's for now, but more and more is going on at the keeps, at least on the server im on we take them and lose them each day and have a good fight either way. Maybe your right, maybe it is lacking in areas, but its only been out 5-6 weeks, give it a chance. Or maybe, god forbid i say this, your playing it too much every day and need to slow down a bit :)

<ColiN>

Really don't know what you're all moaning about, I never get any slowdown. Pretty good system mind you, E8400 and a 4870, but it's always smooth.

Plenty of open RvR going on, but I do find it's terribly disorganised at the moment, consisting mostly of warbands chasing each other around control points. Quite happy to stick with it though, enjoying it immensely.

Its running really smoothly on my machine with everything on max, even though I have 8x AF and 8x AA turned on.

I do feel for the people on the lower population servers though, as they are missing out on the open RvR. On our server we have had loads of open RvR, twice in the last week we have been on the brink of a city attack. Keeps and zones are swapping hands many times a day.

I do think though that too many people are just going into the scenarios over and over (as its the quickest way to get xp/renown), and thats probably not helping with the open rvr on some servers. That isnt a fault of the game though, its a fault of the mentality of the players who just want xp/renown as quickly as possible. Whats that saying people always say? "Players will always take the path of least resistance and quickest reward".

I dont think that WAR is as good as the golden days of Daoc, or even of UO. Sadly though I dont think I will ever see MMOs as good as those days, not because of the MMOs, but because the player demographic has changed so much, the type of person playing an MMO these days are just so different from the type of person who played them in the MMO golden age (UO/AC/EQ1/Daoc era). To be honest, I think thats why WoW will remain the subscription leader in MMOs for a long long time yet. I actually wouldnt be at all surprised to see WoW being the "top" MMO in another 5 years time, in 2013. It delivers a style of MMO that appeals to the masses...someone once said that a huge portion of MMO players today, arent actually MMO players. Which actually made a lot of sense when I first heard it said.

Its a pity really, because although WoW has brought the MMO market to a whole new level, it has at the same time, suffocated and stifled the MMO market, and sadly , as evidenced upon some servers in WAR with the scenarios thing (amongst other things), it seems the MMO userbase today doesnt really want to break away from the suffocation and stifling of the market.

I thought the reaction of a lot of people to the zombie plague in WoW was very telling - "it's new and different and doesn't have a walktrough on the web and I'm scared - put it back the way it was NOW!!"

The first sign of something new and refreshing in the stagnant theme park that is WoW (which is pretty much representative of most modern mmo's) and everyone freaks out :(

*cough* DeadlyBossMod *cough*

e-peen time but record score in t3 scenario was 193k with engineer (who said they don't do damage!?). What can I say, stupid opposition players and napalm are a rocking combination!

Im 22 Runepriest now, it's getting tough.

Im scenario's, i've given up. For finishing top healer almost every time, with usually 70-80k of healing, i get 5k xp and that's if we win a scenario.

A healer that's say lvl 28, heals less, less damage, no db's or single kills, get's 10k+ xp. I this a MAJOR bug or what?

As mentioned, you may only need 50k xp to level - he could need 100k. I think its proportional to your level.

Regarding healers themselves not getting much renown - they nerfed healing renown in the last patch...apparently they were getting too much, more than the equivalent effort for DPS'ing.

As for people getting tired of it - I agree. They need to bring in the planned bonuses for RvR and quicky. Right now, Scenario's seem to be the only way of getting any action, and I'm my server, we (Order) getting panned in every single one.
I think I've done about a 1/3rd of my Renown bar (at level 15, T2) from about 12-14 scenarios, because we've been hammered every single time.

It gets annoying, I want to try RvR but no one is ever interested, or you can't put together a big enough (or good enough) team to take the keeps. Flags are easy going, I've yet to have any Destro try to defend one or take it back after its been captured, but for the time it takes to get there, kill the bosses, wait for 3mins to defend - the effort isn't worth the reward.

That's us :)

Give Shadowfax or Kimala whisper, if you fancy giving us a try, I've just logged off for the evening.

I'm usually on as Bongofury.

Thanks Sweetloaf, I'll drop one of you a message in game (Char name is Attius)

Hoping a good Guild will help to perk up the social side of things, game does seem very quiet at the moment...

anyone ever do the Gunbad dungeon?

I'd really like to try that but I hardly find anyone up for it. Maybe some assassins of fate would be up sometimes ? :p

my guild did it a few times but it gets old fast , waiting for some more people to catch my main up and then we will try bastion...

gunbads pretty boring overall and the influence rewards werent upto much.
