Do you think you know what a person is like in real by what they post?

I missed the last Edinburgh meet I'm sad to say, I would have really quite liked to put some faces to names.

Particularly the lady ones :)

I would agree with Scuzi on his comment..

plus Fox don't you wear vans or some other kind of skater clobber? I had you more as cords and pims kinda guy tbh :p

Aspects of your personality don't always come out in the same proportions as they do IRL.

I've met a fair few people from the net and some are just as they are online...others seem to lack any sort of social skills :p

I've met loads of people from here and pretty much all of them have been how they are online.

A notable exception was area_51_for_psx. I expected him to be an angsty little emo teenager, and he's not, he's a great big lad with hands like shovels, and a top geezer too.

Gilly online is Gilly IRL. But it's been too long dude ;)

Actually I got some Etnies last week.

Sorry thats a whooooosh from me, more flat skatter shoes?

do you like polo shirts?

:p

Although I thought WTF to Foxs post... But It does actually make sense..

From my personal experience:
- Vans went down hill a good few years ago and is a brand brought more by lame/ emo/ gothic/ scene/ greeebow/ homos than anyone who genuinely skateboards in recent years.
- Adio make some good shoes but have issues due to stupidly sponsoring Bam hence lots of emo/Bam Margera wannabes buying them :(
Etnies also make some brilliant shoes but do attract scene bmx emo kids buying their shoes and telling their emo friends about them..
- Nike's (SB's) are more of a fashion shoe but I don't care they are pretty good although lots of scene kids buy them.. Go to London and you will see skateboarders wearing nikes everywhere!
- DVS, Lakai and other don't attract so much attention from outsiders..
- While DC's seem to be worn by all sort of people (not that I mind most people who wear them probably were or are still cool imo lol)

(You also have people that don't fit any of these categories and just go out and buy skateboarding shoes)

That was my quick skate shoe stereo type breakdown.. (personally I own quite a large selection of these)

And back on topic..
I think you can rarely tell what someone will be like in person until you meet them.. Who knows what people think of me!?

IRL Fox is nothing like Forum Fox.

Sam is really mature online, and is IRL too, but doesn't look it.

On the whole I'd say more people aren't like their Forum selves IRL.
