anyone know if they're handing out M3 discs?

What's a M3 Disc? I'm guessing it had previews of the software on show? If so I know they're handing out hard drives to everyone with Windows 7 and all the other programs and toolkits installed.

It sounds like the beta programme will be open to anybody who wants to join. I'm up for that - always nice to play with shiny new software.

I expect that the beta would be pretty stable too as it's mostly cosmetic changes.

the way that they build windows now, they could release windows 7 today and it would be stable

read the thurrot website, it explains how they manage new additions etc and how they only add things once they've been fully tested

Im hoping to get onto the Windows 7 Beta

I was in the Vista one and its where my hatred for it began. Im hoping that the 7 beta provides a much more positive experience.

Although im not so keen on the new taskbar. Looks nice, but as someone who hates grouped taskbar items, it could be anoying

Can the M3 build be downloaded anywhere so us casual users can give it a quick test? and how do we sign up for the Windows 7 beta?

Thanks

Regards,
Neil

I don't think we'll be able to. The beta starts early next year which will be open to the public I think.

Nice video showing off some of the organisation and searching changes. Very happy about the changes to the sidebar.
